Mobile Toilets During May Day at Jinci Scenic Area
There were application cases of mobile toilets during May Day, and the Jinci Scenic Area in Shanxi took relevant measures to cope with the peak tourist flow.

During the May Day holiday, to address the long queues at women's restrooms in the Jinci Scenic Area, an innovative measure was taken to temporarily convert men's restrooms into women's restrooms and add buses as "mobile men's restrooms". This measure was implemented in both Jinci Park and Jinci Museum and was carried out for the first time that year.
Specifically, on the basis of the existing restrooms at the entrance area of Jinci Museum, a well-equipped and clean bus mobile restroom was deployed. This bus was parked in an area around the periphery that did not affect tourist passage or the appearance of ancient buildings. As a supplement to the restrooms, it effectively alleviated the restroom pressure during peak tourist periods.
The addition of mobile toilets brought significant results. By implementing this optimization measure, during peak tourist periods, the average daily reception capacity of restrooms in this area increased significantly from about 3,000 person-times to around 5,000 person-times. This change in data fully demonstrates the effectiveness and practicality of mobile toilets in coping with peak tourist flows during holidays.
The addition of mobile toilets was an innovative attempt in scenic area management. Staff members said that this was an attempt based on the summary of past experiences, aiming to improve tourists' restroom experiences by flexibly adjusting restroom resources. At the same time, they also said that the mobile toilets might be removed after the May Day holiday, but this measure might be continued during future holidays to better cope with peak tourist flows.
The addition of mobile toilets reflects the scenic area's attention to tourists' needs. During holidays, the tourist flow in scenic areas increases significantly, and restroom issues become one of the focuses of tourists' concerns. By adding mobile toilets, the Jinci Scenic Area not only solved tourists' restroom problems but also improved the service quality and tourist satisfaction of the scenic area. This measure is worth learning from by other scenic areas.
