Materials for Making Container Houses

Quản trị 14 tháng 9, 2026

The main materials for making container houses include steel, thermal insulation materials, interior and exterior wall panels, doors and windows, and other auxiliary materials.

  1. Steel: Steel is the primary structural support material for container houses, including angle steel, channel steel, and tubing. These steels have high strength and corrosion resistance, ensuring the structural safety of the house. Container houses with fully steel structural frames perform excellently in wind and earthquake resistance. For example, the container mobile house of Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. has a maximum frame deformation of only 2mm under the action of a Level 12 strong wind, far below the national standard limit of 10mm.

  2. Thermal Insulation Materials: Since steel can deform under extreme temperatures, affecting comfort, thermal insulation materials are required in container houses. Common thermal insulation materials include polyurethane foam, rock wool, and glass wool. Rock wool boards are widely used in residential container houses due to their Class A fire resistance, moisture resistance, corrosion resistance, sound insulation, and thermal insulation effects.

  3. Interior and Exterior Wall Panel Materials: Both the interior and exterior of container houses require panels for decoration. Common panel materials include color-coated steel sheets, calcium silicate boards, cement fiber boards, and wood. Rock wool sandwich panels are widely used for wall panels due to their excellent sound insulation and thermal insulation properties.

  4. Doors and Windows: Container houses require doors and windows for entry and exit, as well as good ventilation facilities. Aluminum alloy doors and windows, sliding windows, and skylights are commonly used. Aluminum alloy doors and windows have the advantages of being lightweight, aesthetically pleasing, and corrosion-resistant, making them suitable for container houses.

  5. Other Auxiliary Materials: Depending on the different uses and special requirements of container houses, auxiliary materials such as flooring, ceilings, sound insulation materials, and waterproofing systems may also be required. The flooring often uses moisture-proof wood grain boards, while the ceiling may use calcium silicate boards or cement fiber boards.
