Quartz Cottage in Cornwall, UK
This cottage is located in Cornwall, UK. Its exterior boldly features blue, and the exposed corrugated steel adds an industrial texture. The design of the glass doors and windows is a major highlight, not only allowing plenty of natural light into the interior but also bringing in the beautiful garden scenery outside. The main living space is connected to the outdoor garden, equipped with a dining area and a hot tub. People can enjoy the garden views while having meals and feel the natural atmosphere while relaxing in the hot tub. The interior open-plan living area includes a dining area and a kitchen, with a bed placed in a corner and a private bathroom, presenting a compact and fully functional layout.
Container Hotel (Křešice), Czech Republic
Designed by the Czech company ARTIKUL Architects in 2015, this hotel is located at the surfing campsite in Křešice. It is composed of two 20-foot and one 40-foot containers, creating a multi-level space with a total of five rooms. The ground floor has a guest room with four beds and a bathroom, and the four rooms on the upper floor can be accessed through a shared terrace. The use of glass walls makes the rooms appear spacious and well-lit. The exterior is decorated with exposed container walls and spruce wood, while the interior features birch plywood and custom-made furniture. It has built-in water tanks and waterless toilets, and the roof is equipped with external awnings, combining practicality and aesthetics.
Valley Cabin with Unlimited Scenic Views
The construction site of this cabin consists of two small hills and a gentle depression in between, backed by woodland and with a stream below, situated in a 3000-acre nature reserve. It adopts a construction ratio of 80% prefabrication and 20% on-site construction, using six prefabricated modules on the ground floor and five on the upper floor. After the modules are delivered, they are assembled, and custom elements and the railing roof are built on-site. The interior mainly uses concrete, glass, and wood. The aluminum siding on the modular units is inlaid with colored cedar and Shou Sugi Ban borders. The entrance is aligned with the scenery of the reserve, leading to a custom-made living room. The private living room offers views of the valley, perfectly integrating the natural landscape with the interior space.
