Kitchen Moved Next to Bathroom
Quản trị 09 tháng 10, 2026
Moving the kitchen next to the bathroom has adverse effects in both Feng Shui and real life. If this layout has already been formed, specific measures can be taken to improve it.

Adverse Effects
- Feng Shui Aspect: In Feng Shui, the kitchen represents fire, while the bathroom represents flowing water. Their adjacency creates a clash between fire and water, which can easily disrupt the balance of the home's energy field, potentially affecting the luck of the occupants and family harmony.
- Health Risks: The odor from the bathroom may drift into the kitchen, fostering bacteria and contaminating food, thereby endangering the health of the occupants. Additionally, since the sewage pipes of the bathroom and kitchen are separate, and the diameter of the kitchen's trap is smaller than that of the bathroom's, the waste from the bathroom may cause unpleasant odors in the kitchen, further increasing health risks.
- Psychological Impact: The layout of having the kitchen adjacent to the bathroom may cause psychological discomfort for the occupants, affecting their mood and state of mind in daily life.
Improvement Measures
- Offset Layout: Move the stove to the corner farthest from the bathroom, place the vegetable-washing area near the bathroom side, and install the shower room on the other side wall of the bathroom. This can reduce the direct clash between fire and water and lower the contamination of the kitchen by bathroom odors and bacteria.
- Install Partitions: Add translucent glass partitions or wooden screens. If the budget is limited, hanging a bamboo curtain is also an option. Partitions can to some extent block bathroom odors and lines of sight, improving the energy field and visual perception of the space.
- Daily Habits: Develop the habit of closing the bathroom door immediately after use to prevent odor diffusion. Open windows for ventilation for half an hour every day to maintain air circulation. Scrub the corners of the toilet with disinfectant once a week to reduce bacterial growth and lower health risks.
