Installation of Mobile Fans in Kitchens and Bathrooms
Quản trị 28 tháng 9, 2026
The installation of mobile fans (exhaust fans) in kitchens and bathrooms should be carried out step by step in a standardized manner to ensure safety and exhaust efficiency. The specific process is as follows:

I. Determine the Installation Location
- Kitchen Exhaust Fan: Preferably choose a location close to the stove or the area where cooking fumes are generated, such as 30 centimeters above the stove. This can efficiently exhaust smoke while avoiding contact during operation. For bidirectional exhaust fans, keep the installation distance within 0.3 meters to prevent a decrease in exhaust efficiency. Window-mounted installations can directly replace window glass, but be sure to measure the dimensions in advance and apply paint for rust prevention to avoid blocking light or affecting structural stability.
- Bathroom Exhaust Fan: Usually installed on the ceiling or on the wall near the shower area to ensure that moisture and odors can be quickly exhausted. Avoid the direct spray range of the showerhead to prevent motor damage from moisture.
II. Fix the Bracket
- Cut holes in the wall or ceiling according to the size of the exhaust fan. The edges of the holes should be smooth and free of burrs.
- Use expansion screws to fix the bracket to the wall or ceiling (such as aluminum ceiling panels or wooden joists), ensuring it is level and secure. If the screws are not firmly fixed (e.g., one side of the screw cannot be inserted), add square lumber at the edge for auxiliary fixation to enhance stability.
III. Install the Exhaust Fan Body
- Remove the exhaust fan panel and embed the outer frame into the wall hole, leaving a 10mm gap between the outer frame and the wall for adjustment and sealing.
- Tighten the fixing screws and then reinstall the panel, ensuring there is no looseness. For window-mounted exhaust fans, accurately measure the cutting position to avoid installation difficulties or air leakage due to dimensional deviations.
IV. Wiring Connection and Sealing
- Wiring Connection: Before connecting, be sure to disconnect the power supply. Connect the live wire, neutral wire, and ground wire according to the instructions. Wrap the joints with insulating tape to prevent short circuits or electric shocks.
- Sealing Treatment: Use silicone sealant to fill the gaps between the exhaust fan and the wall/window frame to prevent cooking fumes from flowing back (in the kitchen) or external air from entering (in the bathroom), while also improving sound insulation.
V. Testing and Adjustment
- After connecting the power supply, check if the fan blades rotate smoothly and if there are any abnormal noises or vibrations.
- If the exhaust efficiency is poor, you can install an extended ventilation duct (such as a flexible or rigid duct) to improve the exhaust efficiency.
Precautions
- Correct Direction: Ensure that the exhaust fan is oriented correctly and avoid upside-down or left-right reversals, as this will affect the exhaust efficiency.
- Professional Operation: If the installation location is high or involves complex electrical circuits, it is recommended to contact professional personnel for operation to avoid safety hazards.
- Regular Maintenance: After installation, regularly clean the fan blades and filters to prevent the accumulation of grease (in the kitchen) or dust (in the bathroom) from affecting performance.
