Jingmen Rural Mobile Toilets
Quản trị 21 tháng 9, 2026
Taking the achievements of the 'toilet revolution' in Zhongxiang City as a typical example, Jingmen's rural mobile toilets combine solar energy and environmental protection types to form a system of standardized construction, regular management and maintenance, and resource utilization.

I. Achievements of the 'Toilet Revolution' in Zhongxiang City
As a pilot county for the comprehensive promotion of the 'toilet revolution' in Hubei Province, Zhongxiang City has completed the renovation of 150,511 rural toilets and 510 public toilets, with a renovation rate of 98.53% and a harmless treatment rate of 96% for rural toilet fecal matter. Its core practices include:
- Standardized Construction:
- Rural toilet construction adheres to the 'ten have and three no' standards, with technical personnel providing on-site guidance to ensure construction quality;
- Promotion of three fecal matter treatment models: three-compartment septic tanks in hilly areas, artificial wetlands combined with septic tanks in plain areas, and centralized treatment in town communities;
- Financial incentive and subsidy policies: subsidies of 1,000 yuan per household for outdoor toilet facilities, assistance of 200 yuan per household for indoor toilet facilities, and subsidies of 20,000 to 50,000 yuan per public toilet.
- Regular Management and Maintenance:
- Villager self-management: 493 grid members are selected as informants to stimulate participation through 'cleanest household' competitions;
- Township-specific services: equipped with suction trucks and sludge pumps to provide 'phone reservation, door-to-door service' for fecal matter removal;
- Municipal-level overall coordination and support: an annual operating budget of 3 million yuan is invested, with quarterly evaluations of service providers.
- Resource Utilization:
- Construction of 150 fecal matter storage tanks beside the bases of 142 agricultural operators, converting rural toilet fecal matter into organic fertilizer to achieve ecological circulation.
II. Types and Characteristics of Mobile Toilets
- Solar Mobile Toilets:
- Power supply system: powered by a combination of 'photovoltaic panels + controllers + deep-cycle batteries', reducing reliance on the traditional power grid;
- Sewage discharge technology: adopts 'micro-flush' or 'vacuum negative pressure' technologies, which are water-saving and have high sewage discharge efficiency;
- Intelligent management: built-in intelligent control modules enable real-time monitoring of energy status and equipment operation;
- Site selection requirements: require sufficient sunlight and flat terrain, and are not suitable for all open spaces.
- Mobile Environmental Protection Toilets:
- Waste treatment: equipped with detachable fecal storage tanks or biodegradation tanks, supporting water-flush or vacuum suction flushing;
- Deodorization technology: uses biological enzyme preparations, activated carbon adsorption, or mechanical exhaust devices to effectively control odors;
- Energy supply: built-in batteries combined with solar charging panels, with some models capable of connecting to municipal power sources;
- Advanced features: some models are equipped with gray water filtration systems, handrails, and emergency call devices, balancing environmental protection with user-friendly design.
