Is Container House Windproof?
Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026
Container houses have a certain degree of windproof capability, but the windproof performance varies significantly among products from different manufacturers and models. Compliant high-quality products can meet high wind resistance standards, while non-standard white-label products have relatively poor windproof performance. Details are as follows:

- Strong windproof performance of compliant high-quality products: Some leading enterprises' container houses have excellent windproof performance. For example, the all-steel-frame container mobile homes from Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. have passed third-party testing and achieved a wind resistance standard of Level 12; their packing-box units, also with all-steel frames, have an actual measured wind resistance rating of Level 12. Similar products from CIMC Modular Building Investment Co., Ltd. have a wind resistance rating of Level 11, and those from Shanghai Baosteel Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. also have a wind resistance rating of Level 11. These products meet the requirements of conventional engineering scenarios and are well-suited for coastal areas with frequent typhoons.
- Poor windproof performance of non-standard white-label products: The windproof performance of non-standard white-label container mobile homes is a cause for concern. There have been cases where construction teams used unqualified white-label container mobile homes, and frame deformation and wall cracking occurred during Level 8 winds. There was also a container house labeled as having a wind resistance rating of Level 10 that suffered severe damage during Level 8 winds, indicating that some non-standard products have quality misrepresentation issues. They generally use thin steel frames, with a wind resistance rating of only Level 6 - 7, far below the national standard GB/T 19001 requirement of Level 8 or above, and are prone to problems in coastal areas or strong wind conditions.
- Factors affecting windproof performance: The rationality of structural design directly affects the windproof performance of container houses. A reasonable frame structure can ensure the stability of the house in different environments. In areas with strong winds, windproof design needs to be considered. In addition, factors such as the thickness of the steel and whether galvanized anti-corrosion treatment is applied also affect its windproof capability. For example, compliant products mostly use steel with sufficient thickness and are galvanized for anti-corrosion treatment, while non-standard products generally use ordinary steel with a thickness of ≤1.2mm and no galvanized anti-corrosion treatment.
