Installation Guide for Mobile Toilet on Upper Floor

Quản trị 05 tháng 10, 2026

When installing a mobile toilet on the upper floor, it is essential to consider floor load-bearing capacity, sewage pipe alignment, and concealed electrical and plumbing work. The specific process is as follows:

1. Preparation Stage

  • Floor Load Assessment: Contact the property management or a structural engineer to confirm whether the designed floor load meets the weight requirements of the mobile toilet (including the water tank, base, and usage load). Reinforce the floor if necessary.
  • Sewage Pipe Inspection: Ensure that the upper-floor sewage pipe is vertically aligned with the main sewage pipe on the lower floor. If misalignment exists, plan a relocation solution in advance (e.g., using a pipe relocator, but the relocation distance should be ≤40cm with a reserved slope of 1%-3%).
  • Model Selection: Choose between a bag-type mobile toilet (requiring regular fecal bag cleaning) or a microbial degradation-type mobile toilet (relying on bacteria to decompose waste) based on available space. Prioritize lightweight materials to reduce floor pressure.

2. Frame Assembly

  • Base Fixation: Install a non-slip base on a flat surface and secure it to the floor with expansion bolts, ensuring alignment with the center of the sewage pipe.
  • Wall Panel Assembly: Install the left and right side panels, front panel, and back panel in sequence, tighten the connections with screws, install upper slots to support the top cover, and finally add ventilation louvers (to prevent odor accumulation).
  • Safety Reinforcement: Frame assembly requires two people to prevent tipping. After completion, check that all screws are tightened to avoid loosening during use.

3. Sewage and Electrical/Plumbing Connection

  • Precise Sewage Outlet Alignment: Measure the distance from the center of the toilet sewage outlet to the wall (commonly 305mm/400mm). Before installation, flush the pipe for 3-5 minutes to remove sediment. Align the centerline using installation paper and secure the flange ring (wax ring or rubber ring).
  • Concealed Electrical and Plumbing Work:
    • Power Supply: A smart toilet requires a 220V power supply. The socket should be embedded 30-40cm above the toilet side (concealed installation) and equipped with a waterproof box to prevent splashing.
    • Water Supply: The water inlet angle valve should be embedded before tiling. Connect the toilet with a 6-point hose, avoiding rigid pipes that may cause difficulty in future maintenance.

4. Sealing Treatment

  • Sewage Outlet Sealing: Do not use cement mortar. Connect the sewage outlet with a flange ring and secure the outer ring with glass glue or neutral sealant to prevent leakage.
  • Wall Gap Treatment: Fill gaps between the wall and floor, as well as the top cover, with waterproof sealant to prevent moisture from infiltrating the floor structure.

5. Detail Handling and Finalization

  • Cleaning and Inspection: Clean dust inside and outside the toilet, check that all bolts and nuts are tightened, and test whether the flushing and ventilation functions are normal.
  • Maintenance Tips: Regularly clean fecal bags (for bag-type toilets) or add bacteria (for microbial degradation-type toilets). Check the flange ring seal and floor load-bearing structure every six months.

Special Reminder: Installing a mobile toilet on the upper floor requires permission from the property management. When involving load-bearing modifications or pipe relocation, it must be carried out by professionals to avoid damaging the building structure or causing disputes with neighbors.
