Huangshan Container House Construction

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

The construction of container houses in Huangshan requires comprehensive consideration of multiple factors, including design, construction, approval, and maintenance.

I. Design Planning The design of container houses should focus on spatial layout and functional zoning. Functional areas can be expanded through splicing combinations (e.g., connecting 2-3 containers to form an integrated space for living room, dining room, bedroom, and bathroom) or staggered stacking (creating rich layers and improving ventilation and lighting). For small units, it is recommended to use multifunctional furniture such as folding beds and integrated cabinets to enhance space utilization. In terms of lighting, large floor-to-ceiling windows, roof skylights, or glass partitions can be installed; for insulation, internal insulation layers should be added to walls/roofs, and triple-glazed windows should be selected; shading can be achieved through roof eaves or terrace awnings. The exterior facade can be beautified with paint spraying, themed murals, or glass curtain walls to break away from the industrial feel.

II. Construction Key Points Container houses are steel structure buildings that require independent foundations (such as pile foundations) to be elevated for moisture and insect prevention, and to facilitate site leveling. During the construction phase, strict rust prevention treatment is necessary: all cut and welded edges must be polished and then coated with epoxy primer + topcoat to prevent rusting later; the container body should be elevated to avoid direct contact with ground moisture. Waterproof sealing requires regular maintenance: the sealant around doors and windows, splicing seams, and roof gutters should be replaced every 5-7 years, and roof leaves should be cleared to prevent water accumulation and corrosion of the steel plate.

III. Approval and Compliance If constructing on rural homestead land, it is necessary to follow local requirements for building approval and provide structural drawings stamped by an engineer. It is not allowed to directly build containers as permanent residences without approval, otherwise, they may be identified as illegal constructions. Construction is strictly prohibited on cultivated land and basic farmland, and forestry approval is required for forest land; leased land mostly only allows temporary constructions, and the contract should clarify the nature of use.

IV. Post-construction Maintenance For rust prevention, check welds, corners, and other parts annually, and immediately polish and repaint any rust spots found; the repainting cycle is 8-12 years in inland dry areas, 7-10 years in southern humid areas, and 3-5 years in coastal areas. For waterproofing, regularly replace the sealant and clean the roof; to prevent internal condensation, install insulation layers + vapor barriers, and enhance ventilation (e.g., exhaust fans, high windows) to avoid using bare steel plates directly as indoor wall surfaces.
