How to Weld a Mobile Toilet Frame

Quản trị 08 tháng 10, 2026

The welding of a mobile toilet frame must adhere to core principles such as material suitability, process standardization, structural stability, and corrosion resistance compliance. The specific steps are as follows:

1. Material Selection and Pre-treatment

The main frame should preferably use stainless steel or galvanized steel pipes: Stainless steel offers strong corrosion resistance, suitable for outdoor humid environments; galvanized steel pipes are more cost-effective but require anti-rust paint spraying on the weld areas after welding to prevent local corrosion. The bottom structure typically uses channel steel or I-beams as the load-bearing foundation, with square steel for columns and angle steel for the wall frame to enhance stability. Materials must be verified with material certification documents (e.g., Q235B carbon steel) to ensure strength meets design requirements (e.g., angle steel edge thickness ≥ 3mm).

2. Welding Process Implementation

  1. Process Selection: Manual arc welding or gas metal arc welding are the primary methods, with the former suitable for outdoor operations and the latter offering higher weld quality. Before welding, clean the material surface of oil, grease, and oxide layers to avoid porosity or slag inclusion defects.
  2. Parameter Control: Adjust current and voltage based on the base material thickness to ensure a penetration depth of at least 70% of the base material thickness. Weld surface depressions or protrusions must be controlled within 0.5mm to avoid stress concentration.
  3. Operation Points:
    • Segmented Welding: Weld the vertical joints between columns and bottom channel steel first, then connect the wall frame, and finally weld the crossbeams to minimize welding distortion.
    • Symmetrical Welding: Weld symmetrical parts of the frame simultaneously to balance heat input and prevent structural distortion.
    • Arc Initiation and Termination: Repeat arc initiation at the start and end points of the weld to fill the crater and avoid cracks.

3. Structural Stability Assurance

  1. Verticality and Levelness: Use a level and square during welding to monitor in real-time, ensuring column vertical deviation ≤ 2mm/m and overall frame level error ≤ 3mm.
  2. Reinforcement Design: Add diagonal braces at frame corners and use double-layer steel plate reinforcement for openings like door and window frames to enhance wind resistance.
  3. Lifting Adaptation: Reserve lifting holes at the top and weld anti-slip feet at the bottom to ensure the frame does not undergo plastic deformation during movement.

4. Corrosion Protection and Inspection

  1. Corrosion Protection:
    • Inspect the integrity of the galvanized layer on galvanized steel pipes and apply zinc-rich primer to damaged areas.
    • Perform pickling and passivation on stainless steel frames to form a dense oxide film and improve corrosion resistance.
  2. Quality Inspection:
    • Visual Inspection: Ensure welds are uniform, free of cracks, and have a bite depth ≤ 0.5mm.
    • Non-destructive Testing: Conduct ultrasonic testing on critical joints to ensure no internal defects.
    • Dimension Verification: Check against design drawings to confirm frame length, width, and height errors ≤ 5mm and diagonal differences ≤ 8mm.

By following these steps, the welding quality of the mobile toilet frame can meet long-term outdoor use requirements, balancing safety and durability.
