How to Transform Container Houses
The transformation of container houses can be carried out from aspects such as structural reinforcement, thermal insulation, water and electricity layout, interior decoration, and exterior modification.

Structural Reinforcement: The spacing between the longitudinal beams of the bottom frame of traditional containers is large, and the floor stiffness is insufficient for direct habitation. C-shaped steel purlins can be installed between the bottom beams to evenly distribute the load to the main beams, ensuring structural stability even when stacked up to three layers. At the same time, the surface of the container body should be shot-blasted to remove rust and coated with a zinc-rich primer and a polyurethane topcoat to form a protective system that maintains the effective service life of the steel for more than 15 years in harsh environments.
Thermal Insulation: Metal container walls exhibit a thermal bridge effect, and conventional inner-side attachment of insulation boards can easily create heat conduction channels at the steel framework. A broken-bridge lining structure can be adopted, filling hard polyurethane foam between the steel framework and the inner wall panels, and installing rubber thermal insulation pads at the framework connections to reduce the heat exchange efficiency between the interior and exterior of the container by about 40%. For camp dormitory projects, the indoor temperature can be 8 to 10 degrees Celsius higher than the outside temperature in winter without heating, reducing reliance on heating equipment energy consumption.
Water and Electricity Layout: When most of the interior decoration work is completed in the factory, positions for air conditioning and hot water equipment should be reserved to facilitate subsequent installation. At the same time, the water and electricity lines should be reasonably planned to ensure convenient and safe on-site connection of water and electricity.
Interior Decoration: Different decoration plans can be selected according to different needs. The simple style is suitable for construction site dormitories, with wall panels laid on the walls and all switches and sockets provided; the high-end homestay style can include suspended ceilings, wooden floors, and integrated bathrooms. Customers can also choose wall materials, floor styles, and lighting fixtures to create personalized spaces.
Exterior Modification: The exterior of the container can be painted to change its monotonous dark blue tone and increase aesthetics. Doors and windows can also be added to the container, connected to terraces, and solar panels can be installed to enhance the convenience and comfort of living.
