How to Move a Portable Toilet
The method for relocating a portable toilet depends on its specific type and the scenario, mainly divided into two categories: relocating a toilet in a home bathroom and relocating an outdoor portable toilet. The specific methods are as follows:

I. Relocating a Toilet in a Home Bathroom
If you need to adjust the position of the toilet in your home bathroom, choose different solutions based on the relocation distance:
- Short-distance relocation (≤10 cm)
Use a special toilet relocation device to achieve minor position adjustments by extending the sewage pipe. The relocation device must match the diameter of the toilet's sewage outlet and the sewer pipe. Ensure a reasonable pipe slope (usually not less than 2%) during installation to prevent sewage stagnation. - Long-distance relocation (>10 cm)
You need to modify the sewer pipe and adjust the floor height:- Pipe modification: Relay PVC sewage pipes, ensuring the slope meets the standard (a drop of 1-2 cm per meter) to avoid blockage risks.
- Floor elevation: The bathroom floor needs to be elevated by at least 120 mm as a whole to reserve space for the cement mortar layer and pipe slope, and install a trap to prevent odor backflow.
- Waterproofing: After modification, redo the waterproof layer and conduct a closed-water test (retain water for more than 24 hours) to ensure no leakage.
II. Relocating an Outdoor Portable Toilet
In outdoor scenarios, portability and environmental protection are the core features of portable toilets. Common solutions include:
- Portable toilet
Suitable for self-driving camping or RV travel, consisting of a seat, a frame, and a detachable waste bucket. Some models are equipped with a tent for privacy. When relocating, empty and seal the waste bucket. The entire structure can be folded and stored for easy vehicle transportation. - Disposable emergency bag
Contains absorbent or solidifying materials. Seal and discard after use, suitable for hiking backpackers or emergency reserves. No additional relocation equipment is required, but pay attention to choosing biodegradable bags that meet environmental standards to avoid environmental pollution. - Simple pit toilet
Dig a shallow pit of 15-20 cm in wilderness areas (away from water sources, campsites, and trails) and bury the waste after use. When relocating, fill in the pit and restore the vegetation, suitable for short-term camping without fixed facilities. - Small folding toilet
Uses a lightweight metal or plastic frame that unfolds to form a toilet seat, with a collection bag placed underneath. Combining portability and hygiene, when relocating, simply fold the frame and replace the collection bag, suitable for group camping or long-term outdoor activities.
Precautions: When relocating a home toilet, strictly follow construction specifications to avoid damaging the original waterproof layer; outdoor portable toilets must comply with local environmental regulations, and the use of non-biodegradable materials is prohibited in ecologically sensitive areas.
