How to Make a Good Mobile Toilet
Quản trị 22 tháng 10, 2026
Making a mobile toilet requires a combination of structural stability, functional practicality, and mobility convenience. You can choose from the following plans and optimize the details according to your needs:

1. Water storage tank modification plan (low-cost and portable type)
- Basic structure: Select a high-strength plastic water storage tank (recommended capacity of over 100L). Cut it horizontally along the central axis into upper and lower parts. Keep the bottom part as the sewage cavity and the top part as the functional area. The cutting surface should be polished smoothly and waterproofed to avoid scratches or leaks.
- Mobility system: Install four universal wheels with brakes at the four corners of the tank body. The wheel diameter is recommended to be ≥10cm to improve passability. Weld metal handles on the side of the tank body for easy single-person handling.
- Functional modules:
- Toilet area: Fix a small toilet (foldable type is optional). Connect the bottom to a PVC drain pipe, and the end should be connected to a sealed sewage tank (which needs to be replaced regularly). The water tank adopts a gravity flushing design, and the water level difference should be ≥30cm to ensure sufficient flushing force.
- Hand-washing area: Install a 5L plastic water storage tank on the top. Connect it to a push-type showerhead through a silicone tube. Install a water-saving valve at the water outlet. The hand-washing basin can be modified from a stainless steel basin, with a hole drilled at the bottom and connected to a drain pipe leading to the sewage tank.
- Walls and door: Build a frame with lightweight wooden strips (recommended height of 1.8-2m) and cover it with waterproof canvas or plastic soft panels. The door frame is connected with hinges, and the door panel is made of acrylic panels or wooden boards, equipped with locks and ventilation holes.
2. Water storage tank and pallet combination plan (modular and expandable type)
- Main structure: Select two 50L plastic water storage tanks. Cut the bottom flat and fix them on a plastic pallet with universal wheels. Reinforce the tanks with metal brackets between them to ensure overall stability.
- Functional integration:
- Sewage system: Drill holes on the side of the tanks and install drain elbows. Connect them to PVC pipes leading to an external sewage tank. Choose a straight-discharge toilet and install a sealing ring at the bottom to prevent odor leakage.
- Water and electricity system: Install solar panels on the top (recommended power of over 50W) to supply power to LED lighting and exhaust fans. The water tank adopts a circulating water design and realizes water reuse through a filtering device to reduce water consumption.
- Door design: Make a door frame from wooden boards and cover it with a waterproof film. The door hinge is made of stainless steel, and the door handle can be made of plastic or metal to ensure durability.
3. General design optimization suggestions
- Structural form: Choose a single-unit structure (suitable for single-person use) or a composite structure (expandable to double toilet stalls) according to the usage scenario.
- Mobility method: For lightweight types, choose a handling type (total weight ≤50kg). For heavy types, configure a power towing device (such as an electric tractor).
- Sewage treatment: For water-flushing types, regularly clean the sewage tank. For non-water-flushing types, choose biodegradable bags or dry separation devices. For circulating water types, install high-efficiency filters (such as a combination of activated carbon and ultrafiltration membranes).
Key precautions: All cutting surfaces should be waterproofed (such as by applying epoxy resin). The slope of the drain pipes is recommended to be ≥5% to prevent blockage. The electrical part should be equipped with a leakage protection device to ensure safety during use.
