How to Install Mobile Environmental Toilets
The installation of mobile environmental toilets requires selecting appropriate methods based on specific types and scenarios, with core steps including basic installation, tool preparation, safety compliance, functional customization, and inspection and debugging.

I. Basic Installation Steps
- Positioning and Fixing: After the supplier transports the toilet body to the designated location, ensure the ground is level, adjust it to a horizontal state using a spirit level, and secure it with expansion bolts or ground anchors. For “building-block” structures (such as modular toilets), assemble the columns, walls, and roof panels according to the instructions, using clips or bolts for assembly without the need for complex civil engineering.
- Water and Electricity Connections: If the toilet is equipped with a flushing system or lighting, connect it to an external water source and power supply. Use waterproof connectors during connection and ensure the wiring complies with safety standards; for waterless toilets (such as microbial degradation types), no water source is required, but check the sealing of the fecal storage tank or degradation tank.
- Drainage System Debugging: Check that the drainage pipes are unobstructed to avoid blockages or leaks. For toilets designed with fecal storage tanks, confirm the installation position and sealing of the excreta collection container to prevent odor leakage.
II. Tool and Material Preparation
Before installation, prepare tools such as an electric drill (with a 4.2 mm drill bit), rivet gun, spirit level, and wrench for fixing panels, inserting rivets, and adjusting levelness. If wall assembly is involved, prepare sealant or waterproof strips to ensure there are no gaps at the connections.
III. Safety and Compliance Requirements
- Site Selection: Avoid low-lying areas prone to water accumulation to prevent rainwater backflow; keep away from dangerous facilities such as fire sources and high-voltage lines to ensure safety during use.
- Space Reservation: Reserve 1-2 square meters of activity space for each toilet for easy maintenance and ventilation. If installing in public places, communicate with the property or site management in advance to confirm that the installation location complies with planning requirements.
- Signage Setting: Set up clear gender signs (such as “Men” and “Women”) and accessibility signs (if needed) at the toilet entrance for easy identification by users.
IV. Special Requirements Customization
Based on usage scenarios (such as outdoors, high altitudes, extreme climates, etc.), request the supplier to provide windproof, rainproof, insulation, or odor-proof functions. For example, add windbreak panels, canopies, or exhaust fans, or use double-layer sealed door designs to enhance comfort during use.
V. Inspection and Debugging
After installation, conduct a comprehensive inspection:
- Confirm that the water and electricity connections are leak-free and the drainage system is unobstructed;
- Test whether functions such as flushing and lighting are normal;
- Check the sealing of the fecal storage tank or degradation tank to avoid odor diffusion.
Precautions: Environmental toilets require regular cleaning of excreta (such as cleaning the fecal storage tank every 1-2 weeks); choosing a well-ventilated location for outdoor installation can reduce odors; it is recommended to contact the supplier 1-2 weeks in advance to ensure installation and debugging are completed before the event.
