How to Build a Container House
Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026
The construction of a container house involves steps such as selection, ground preparation, lifting and positioning, and interior decoration and installation, as follows:

I. Selection Phase
- Structural Type Selection: Common types include welded integral containers and bolt-connected modular containers. Welded containers have strong resistance to deformation and are suitable for frequent lifting and movement; modular containers use standard sheet metal bolted connections, and attention should be paid to the tightness of the joints.
- Steel Specification Inspection: The wall thickness of the steel for columns and bottom beams typically ranges from 1.5 mm to 3 mm. Thicker walls provide greater load-bearing redundancy but also increase the self-weight.
- Coating Process Evaluation: Hot-dip galvanizing offers a longer corrosion-resistant lifespan than cold-dip galvanizing, especially in areas with large temperature differences between day and night and significant humidity changes. The quality of the coating directly determines the rusting speed of the container body.
II. Ground Preparation
- Foundation Preparation: Clear the ground of loose soil and debris, and compact the original soil layer. For long-term fixed use, pour a concrete strip foundation with a recommended width of 30 cm to 50 cm and a depth determined by the local frost depth. The top surface of the foundation should be level, with a height difference not exceeding 5 mm.
- Short-term Use Solution: Prefabricated concrete blocks or steel pads can be used. The spacing between blocks should not exceed 2 meters, and a crushed stone leveling layer should be laid beneath each block to ensure that the load-bearing points are on the same horizontal plane.
III. Lifting and Positioning
- Lifting Operation: Use steel wire ropes with sufficient load-bearing capacity to ensure that all lifting points are subjected to synchronous force, avoiding unilateral force that could cause distortion of the container body.
- Positioning Inspection: After the container body is positioned, check the fit between the bottom beam and the foundation pad. Use thin steel sheets to fill any local gaps. Use a level to check along the longitudinal and transverse directions of the bottom beam, ensuring that the levelness error is controlled within 2 mm per meter.
IV. Interior Decoration and Installation
- Structural Installation: After completing the installation of the main structure, lay floor covering, install lighting fixtures, switches, sockets, and reserve air conditioning holes.
- Waterproofing Treatment: Apply waterproof sealant at the joints of the container body and the roof gutter, using glass curtain wall waterproof sealant to enhance waterproofing performance.
