Household Container Simple House

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

A household container simple house is a temporary or permanent living space transformed from a standard container, featuring modularity, mobility, and relatively low cost. However, attention should be paid to structural safety, fire hazards, and compliance issues.

1. Structural Types and Stability

Container houses mainly come in two types: welded integral containers and bolt-connected assembled containers. Welded containers are formed as a whole in the factory, with a direct load path and strong resistance to deformation, making them suitable for frequent lifting and moving. Assembled containers use standard plates connected by bolts, and the tightness of the joints directly affects overall stability. It is necessary to focus on checking the steel wall thickness of the columns and bottom beams (common specifications range from 1.5 to 3 millimeters). The thicker the wall, the greater the load-bearing redundancy, but the self-weight also increases accordingly.

2. Installation and Ground Treatment

Ground treatment is a core part of installation, providing a uniform load-bearing foundation for the container. The bottom beams of containers are usually I-beams or channel steels, with limited contact area with the ground. If placed directly on soft soil, it can easily lead to excessive local pressure, causing uneven settlement of the container, deformation of doors and windows, and wall cracks.

3. Renovation Cases and Functional Design

In practical cases, container houses can achieve living functions through internal renovation. For example, a 15-square-meter container can be designed as a "mini villa", including an open kitchen, a foldable bed, storage cabinets, and a solar power supply system. A 30-square-meter container can be equipped with a bathroom, a bedroom, and full-length floor-to-ceiling windows, increasing the sense of space through the opening design of the side walls. During renovation, attention should be paid to insulation layer installation, waterproof and moisture-proof treatment, and natural lighting optimization to improve living comfort.

4. Safety Hazards and Compliance

Container houses have certain safety hazards and require special attention:

  • Fire risks: Electrical circuit failures and the use of flammable materials may cause fires. It is necessary to standardize circuit design and equip with fire-fighting facilities.
  • Structural safety: The connection joints of assembled containers need regular inspection to avoid overall instability caused by loose bolts.
  • Compliance: Some regions have strict restrictions on the use and placement of container houses. It is necessary to consult the local planning department in advance to avoid illegal construction.
