Container Houses Transformed into Homestay Hotels

Quản trị 17 tháng 9, 2026

Container houses can be transformed into homestay hotels, featuring short construction periods, environmental protection and energy efficiency, adaptability to various terrains, and unique design characteristics, with applications in multiple scenarios.

Short Construction Period: Transforming container houses into homestay hotels can take as short as 45 days from design to opening. Compared to traditional buildings, the construction process is more streamlined, eliminating the need for large-scale foundation work and lengthy main structure construction. This significantly shortens the construction period, enabling faster entry into operation and meeting market demands.

Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency: These houses often achieve environmental protection and energy efficiency through systems such as photovoltaic power generation and rainwater harvesting. The photovoltaic power generation system converts solar energy into electricity, providing clean energy for homestay hotels and reducing reliance on traditional energy sources. The rainwater harvesting system collects rainwater, which, after treatment, can be used for toilet flushing, irrigation, etc., improving water resource utilization and reducing operational costs while aligning with sustainable development principles.

Adaptability to Various Terrains: Container houses can adapt to various terrains and have been widely used in tourist attractions and rural areas in recent years. For example, container homestay projects can be found in places like Mogan Mountain in Zhejiang, Dali in Yunnan, Yangshuo in Guilin, and Yangshan Island in Lianyungang, Jiangsu. These areas have complex and diverse terrains, and the modular design and portability of container houses enable them to flexibly respond to different terrain conditions and quickly establish homestay hotels with local characteristics.

Unique Design Characteristics: Some container homestays showcase unique design ingenuity. For instance, the Container Triangle House Homestay features a black exterior with lighting, creating a soft and gentle light and shadow effect on the sides. The interior space is spacious, with walls painted using eco-friendly and non-toxic clay that can regulate temperature and purify the air. From custom-made concrete countertops to brass hardware, wool carpets, and wooden lamps, natural materials are used as much as possible. The house has an extremely high arched ceiling, concrete radiant floors throughout, and large windows on all sides that allow ample natural light to enter. The light-colored interior design makes the light even more transparent.

Multi-Scenario Applications: In addition to serving as homestay hotels, container houses also have applications in other scenarios. For example, during the Nagoya Asian Games, container houses were used as accommodation for athletes and officials. Each unit consisted of two parts, each with an area of approximately 35 square meters, equipped with four beds, as well as independent toilets, bathrooms, refrigerators, washing machines, and an air conditioner, meeting the accommodation needs during the event.
