Hebei Temporary Building Prefabrication

Quản trị 18 tháng 9, 2026

In Hebei, the prefabrication of temporary buildings mainly focuses on packing-box units, which have advantages such as modularity, reusability, and rapid construction. There are also clear requirements in terms of materials, structure, manufacturing processes, and climate adaptability. Meanwhile, the prefabricated housing industry in Hebei is developing rapidly in the export sector but also faces competitive challenges.

Mainstream Products and Advantages

In Hebei's temporary building prefabrication sector, packing-box units are gradually replacing traditional color-steel houses as the mainstream. Based on steel structural frames and composite panel assembly, these units are prefabricated in factories and assembled on-site. The overall structure consists of a base frame, top frame, columns, and wall panels, with components connected by bolts, eliminating the need for on-site welding. This design facilitates easy disassembly and multiple reuses, with a wide range of applications from project offices to employee dormitories, all achievable through combinations of different-sized units.

Material and Structural Requirements

For materials, the base frame typically uses hot-dip galvanized steel, while wall panels are mostly rock wool sandwich panels or glass wool sandwich panels. When purchasing, buyers can request manufacturers to provide panel test reports to confirm that the combustion performance meets Class A or B1 standards. In terms of structural design, packing-box units produced by reputable manufacturers feature reinforced nodes at the connections between columns and the base and top frames, using stiffeners or angle steel for added strength, resulting in better overall wind and earthquake resistance.

Manufacturing Process Characteristics

Excellent manufacturers employ automatic welding techniques in the welding process, ensuring precise panel cutting dimensions. Surface coatings use electrostatic powder spraying or hot-dip galvanizing, providing strong corrosion resistance.

Climate Adaptability Design

Considering Hebei's climate characteristics, for insulation, it is recommended to choose packing-box units with rock wool panels at least 75mm thick, and a moisture-proof isolation layer should be installed between the base frame and the ground. For waterproofing, the top frame should be designed with a drainage slope of no less than 2%, and weather-resistant sealants should be used at roof seams.

Current Situation of Hebei's Prefabricated Housing Industry

Hebei Zhongzhu Housing Technology Co., Ltd. specializes in cement houses, prefabricated components, etc., and can customize related temporary buildings. In 2022, a prefabricated housing factory was put into operation in Hengshui, Hebei. After the shrinkage of domestic temporary building orders, the factory shifted its focus to overseas markets. Today, China's prefabricated building exports have climbed from $1.7 billion in 2020 to $4.3 billion in 2025, with the United States, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Western Europe being the main buyers. There are about 30 prefabricated housing factories in Hengshui, Hebei. However, the industry also faces issues such as intense homogeneous competition and thinning profit margins, with more than one-third of factories expected to exit in the coming years.
