Movable Toilet for Hamsters
Currently, there are no movable toilet products specifically designed for hamsters, but similar functions can be achieved by drawing on the design ideas of other movable public toilets. Here are the specific implementation plans and precautions:

I. Design Idea Reference
The design concept of the movable public toilet for pets in high school classes is of high reference value. This toilet adopts a lightweight pulley or handle design, allowing for flexible position adjustment to meet different scenario needs. It is also equipped with a detachable toilet pan and a leak-proof base, facilitating easy cleaning and maintenance. Such a design resolves the contradiction between mobility and cleanliness through a modular structure, which can be applied to the transformation of hamster toilets.
II. Specific Implementation Plans
Mobile Structure Selection
- Pulley Base: Choose universal wheels with brakes to ensure flexibility during movement and stability after fixation. It is recommended that the wheel diameter be 3-5 centimeters to prevent getting stuck in the gaps of the hamster cage.
- Portable Container: Use a storage box made of lightweight plastic or resin material, with handles or straps added to the sides for easy manual carrying. Ensure that the container edges are smooth to avoid scratching the hamster.
Leak-Proof and Cleaning Design
- Detachable Toilet Pan: Set up a drawer-type toilet pan at the bottom of the container, using non-toxic plastic or stainless steel material for easy daily removal and cleaning. The edge of the toilet pan should be 1-2 centimeters higher than the bottom to prevent urine overflow.
- Leak-Proof Base: Lay a silicone pad or waterproof film between the container and the toilet pan to form a double leak-proof barrier. The base should fit tightly with the container to prevent the hamster from biting it off.
Material Safety Requirements
- All components must pass food-grade safety certification, avoiding the use of materials containing harmful substances such as phenolic resin and bisphenol A.
- The surface coating should be water-based paint or have no coating design to prevent the hamster from being poisoned after biting.
III. Usage Precautions
- Mobile Frequency Control: It is recommended to move the toilet at a fixed time every day (such as during cleaning) to avoid causing stress to the hamster due to frequent changes.
- Odor Management: Lay odor-absorbing materials such as wood chips or paper cotton in the toilet pan and replace them regularly (it is recommended to do so every 2-3 days).
- Fixation Test: Before the first use, observe the hamster in a fixed position in the cage for 24 hours to confirm that it has adapted before moving.
Through the above design, the mobile function of the hamster toilet can be achieved at a low cost without dedicated products, while taking into account both safety and practicality.
