Gusuo District Container House
There are various application scenarios for container houses in Gusuo District, covering illegal rectification, livelihood services, commercial renovations, and engineering obstructions, among others.

1. Illegal Building Rectification Case
The Jinchang Subdistrict in Gusuo District once carried out concentrated rectification of container-style makeshift board houses on the rooftop of Jinmen International Business Plaza. This building complex, composed of 2,437 square meters of containers, included apartments and staff dormitories, housing over 130 people. Upon inspection, it was found to be an unauthorized post-construction addition, presenting significant safety hazards such as inadequate fire resistance ratings, missing fire safety facilities, and no evacuation routes. This violated the regulations in the 'Suzhou Residential Rental Housing Safety Management Regulations' regarding the prohibition of renting illegal buildings for residential purposes, ultimately leading to its legal sealing and evacuation of occupants.
2. Innovative Livelihood Service Applications
The Laiyun Community in Huqiu Subdistrict transformed idle containers into a family doctor studio, addressing medical access issues for residents in old residential areas. Equipped with blood pressure monitors, blood glucose meters, and other devices, the studio provides basic medical care, health education, rehabilitation guidance, and regularly hosts experts from the Northern District of Suzhou Municipal Hospital for consultations. The mobility of containers overcomes the limitations of tight public housing, establishing a '15-minute health and medical service circle' and realizing a tiered diagnosis and treatment model of 'minor illnesses in the community, major illnesses in hospitals.'
3. Commercial and Cultural Tourism Renovation Practices
- Panxu Road Creative Park: Within the Lanyuan SPORT Creative Park, Suzhou Feijie Inspiration Design Co., Ltd. renovated containers into the 'Fuhua ART LIFE' art space, blending floral art with coffee culture to create a bright, white, single-story house adorned with potted plants, becoming a popular check-in spot in the park.
- Chongshan Peninsula Cultural Tourism Project: The core area of the 'Chongshan Bay Cultural Tourism Belt' in Guangfu Town relies on facilities such as container coffee houses and red food trucks, combined with ecological elements like the 'Spark Promenade' and bird-watching towers, to form an innovative cultural tourism model that inherits fishing village culture and red spirit.
4. Typical Cases of Engineering Obstructions
The construction of the eastern section of Suding Road in Pingjiang New Town was stalled due to container 'holdouts.' Within the construction area, three to four container-renovated shacks occupied over a thousand square meters of land. The homeowner had self-installed electrical wiring and raised livestock, creating a 'pastoral life' scene that prevented road construction from proceeding, affecting the delivery of surrounding real estate projects and the completion of livelihood facilities.
