Fully-Equipped Prefabricated Housing

Quản trị 18 tháng 9, 2026

Fully-equipped prefabricated housing is a modern construction model where core components are prefabricated in factories and rapidly assembled on-site. Represented by fully-prefabricated rural houses promoted in Zhejiang Province, it features industrialization, intelligence, and environmental efficiency.

Basic Construction Model

The core of fully-equipped prefabricated housing lies in "factory prefabrication and on-site assembly." Core components such as walls and floor slabs are standardized and produced in factories, ensuring dimensional accuracy and quality stability through precision molds and automated equipment. After being transported to the site, these components are quickly assembled according to design drawings, with the main structure taking only about 7 days to build, similar to assembling "LEGO blocks." This model revolutionizes the traditional wet construction method of brick-and-mortar structures, significantly shortening the construction period and enhancing the controllability of building quality.

Structural and Performance Characteristics

  • Structural Type: Mostly adopts shear wall structures or light steel structures, with nodes fixed through mechanical connections (such as bolts and welding). It can withstand seismic intensity up to 7 degrees, suitable for geological conditions in rural areas.
  • Wall Performance: The walls are 25 cm thick, consisting of reinforced concrete sandwiched with lightweight insulation panels. They are filled with high-efficiency insulation materials internally, coated with waterproof paint externally, and equipped with EPDM waterproof seals between wall panels, forming multiple waterproof barriers. Their sound insulation performance is superior to traditional brick walls, and the waterproofing technology directly follows the mature scheme of Ningbo Metro shield tunnel segments, ensuring high reliability.
  • Supporting Systems: It can integrate rooftop photovoltaic systems (for self-consumption and surplus electricity grid connection) and whole-house smart systems (such as environmental monitoring and remote control), enhancing living comfort and energy efficiency. The main structural materials, especially light steel structures, have high recyclability, aligning with green building concepts.

Construction Advantages and Market Performance

  • Environmental Efficiency: Factory prefabrication reduces on-site construction waste, dust, and noise pollution, meeting the requirements of the "dual carbon" goals. The on-site main structure assembly period is short (completed in a few days), causing minimal disturbance to the surrounding environment.
  • Quality and Space Efficiency: Factory precision production eliminates human errors, resulting in higher building quality. Compared to traditional brick-and-mortar structures, the space efficiency may increase by about 10% (due to reduced wall thickness and improved space utilization).
  • Market Expansion: China's prefabricated housing exports have grown significantly. In the first four months of 2026, Guangzhou Customs reported exports of movable houses worth 1.4 billion yuan (a 38.1% year-on-year increase), with total national exports reaching 2.79 billion USD in the first half of the year (a 45% year-on-year increase). Products cover more than 160 countries and regions worldwide, becoming a new名片 (symbol) of "Made in China" construction.

It should be noted that the main structural cost of fully-equipped prefabricated housing may be slightly higher than that of traditional self-built houses. However, in the long run, its energy-saving, environmental, and efficiency advantages can offset the initial cost differences, making it particularly suitable for rural housing upgrades with high requirements for construction period and quality.
