Foreign Prefabricated Modular Housing

Quản trị 18 tháng 9, 2026

Foreign prefabricated modular housing has matured, with significant achievements in construction models, case studies, and corporate promotion.

Mature and Innovative Construction Models

Prefabricated modular housing abroad has a long development history and has become a relatively mature housing construction model, continuously making progress through innovation and experimentation. In some regions of North America, wooden structural components are precisely processed in factories in advance and then transported to the site for simple assembly like building blocks. This model improves the efficiency of house construction and reduces the complexity and uncertainty of on-site construction.

Numerous Exquisite Case Studies Have Emerged

  • Magic Green Home: It has created a prefabricated Hobbit home, made from prefabricated arched panels with flexible modular residences connected together. Without requiring special skills or heavy equipment, almost anyone can build one in three days. It can also be covered with a green roof for planting, combining fun and ecology.
  • Unity Home: As part of Green Building 2015, it is a zero-net-space prefabricated house. The 1,620-square-foot house was fully constructed in a factory in New Hampshire in five weeks and assembled on the Expo floor in just three days. Built to the LEED V4 Platinum standard, it is equipped with the world's largest series of Cradle to Cradle (C2C) certified building products. Priced at approximately $150 per square foot, it was expected to drop below $140 per square foot in 2016, demonstrating a combination of green environmental protection and economy.
  • Robert Gurney's Modular Home: Located on the outskirts of Washington, D.C., in Bethesda, Maryland, it consists of 13 energy-efficient modules and is an award-winning prefabricated home assembled on-site in two days, highlighting energy efficiency and rapid assembly.
  • Dubldom Wooden Vacation Home: Created by Bio Architects headquartered in Moscow, it is equipped with basic household facilities. Full-height glass windows and skylights fill the interior with light. It can be assembled in one day and is suitable for vacation use.
  • Big Box Eco-Luxury Home: Created by the Bert&May Group, it covers 80 square meters, is wrapped in structural insulation panels, and has a green roof on top. It was built outside the factory in 14 weeks and assembled for Decorex 2015 in just one day, combining environmental protection and luxury.

Corporate Promotion of Market Development

Clayton Homes is the largest manufacturer and seller of prefabricated houses (modular homes) in the United States, founded in Maryville, Tennessee, in 1956. Its core product is modular housing, mainly targeting low- and middle-income families and the demand-driven market. Its product types include traditional on-site constructed houses and off-site constructed houses, such as modular homes, prefabricated homes, and CrossMod™ homes, promoting the popularization of prefabricated modular housing.
