Foreign Container House Cases
Quản trị 14 tháng 9, 2026
Typical cases of foreign container houses include the following, demonstrating the diversity of container houses in creative design, functionality, and sustainability:

Creative Residential Design
- Joshua Tree Residence (California, USA): Designed by James Whitaker, it uses multiple containers combined to form a starburst-shaped exterior. Each container's orientation is optimized to maximize landscape views or provide privacy. The residence features three bedrooms, a kitchen, and a spacious living room, with solar panels on the roof for power support. Square window designs offer a surreal visual experience.
- C-Home (Claverack, USA): Designed by LOT-EK, it is composed of six containers arranged over two floors, covering a total area of 178 square meters. The ground floor serves as public space, including a living room, kitchen, and dining area; the upper floor contains two bedroom suites with bathrooms and walk-in closets, topped by a terrace. Large parallelogram-shaped glass walls provide natural light and cross-ventilation inside.
Hotels and Vacation Homes
- Geneseo Inn (Paso Robles, California, USA): Designed by Ecotech Design, it is located in a vineyard and includes eight guest units and a reception area. Each container module is elevated off the ground, featuring an independent outdoor platform. The interior adopts a modern minimalist style, with 12-foot-high skylights providing natural ventilation and ample lighting.
- Envase Casa: Using six 40-foot-high containers, it creates a spacious living space of 178 square meters, meeting the needs of a family of six. The design emphasizes sustainability and environmental friendliness, preserving the original texture of the containers and infusing an industrial aesthetic.
Public and Cultural Spaces
- Pabellón pila de contenedores (Taiyuan, Shanxi, China): Designed by ZAO, it uses 12 containers to build a temporary office space/exhibition pavilion. The two-story containers are stacked at opposite angles, forming a zigzag exterior and a prominent rooftop terrace. The lower level is bright red, while the upper level is yellow, standing out in the environment.
- Container Gallery (Xinzhuang, Fengtai District, Beijing, China): Designed by Jun Murata, the 80-square-meter gallery space features a white, gray, and yellow exterior. The 12-meter-long interior resembles a tunnel, creating a tranquil space for meditation. The pure white interior design, combined with vertical beams and a narrow slit on the south wall, creates a world of light and shadow.
