Glass Adhesive for Foldable Container Houses

Quản trị 17 tháng 9, 2026

When using glass adhesive for foldable container houses, it is essential to select products with excellent sealing properties, weather resistance, and adaptability to humid or hot environments to ensure the stability of glass splicing or repair.

Core Characteristics of Glass Adhesive and Its Suitability for Container Houses

The glass applications in container houses, such as curtain walls and window/door splicing, demand extremely high sealing performance to prevent rainwater infiltration, air leakage, and structural loosening. The weather resistance of glass adhesive is a critical indicator; it must maintain elasticity within a temperature range of -40℃ to 150℃ to avoid cracking or detachment due to temperature variations. Additionally, mold resistance is particularly important in humid environments (e.g., bathrooms and kitchen areas) to inhibit mold growth and extend service life.

Common Types of Glass Adhesive and Their Applicable Scenarios

  1. Neutral Silicone Sealant:

    • Suitable for windows, doors, kitchens, and bathrooms in container houses due to its neutral formula that does not corrode metal or glass surfaces, along with mold-resistant and waterproof properties. Examples include Desheng 793 Neutral Silicone Transparent Adhesive (¥5.7/tube) and Mike Neutral Silicone Sealant (¥15.96/tube), both of which are cost-effective and suitable for bulk use.
    • Advantages: Low odor, environmentally friendly, forms a flexible sealing layer after curing, and adapts to slight vibrations or displacements.
  2. Weather-Resistant Silicone Sealant:

    • Specifically designed for outdoor use, such as Hangzhou Zhijiang JS-2000 (¥15.96/tube), which can withstand UV radiation and rain erosion, making it suitable for glass curtain wall installation or roof glass splicing. Its high elastic recovery rate fills larger gaps to ensure long-term sealing.
    • Advantages: Excellent aging resistance with a service life of over 15 years, reducing maintenance costs.
  3. Structural Adhesive (e.g., 995 Silicone Structural Adhesive):

    • Used for load-bearing glass structures (e.g., point-supported glass curtain walls), providing high-strength bonding (viscosity up to Grade 25). Priced at ¥16.14/tube, it is suitable for scenarios with extremely high safety requirements.
    • Note: Strict adherence to construction specifications is necessary to ensure uniform adhesive layer thickness and avoid stress concentration due to curing shrinkage.

Selection Recommendations and Construction Tips

  • Environmental Adaptation: Prioritize mold-resistant types (e.g., Desheng 793) for humid areas and weather-resistant types (e.g., JS-2000) for high-temperature or outdoor environments.
  • Construction Specifications: Clean oil stains and dust from glass surfaces and keep them dry; apply adhesive at a 45° angle with uniform pressure to ensure complete filling of the adhesive layer; avoid touching or moving the glass during initial curing.
  • Safety Precautions: Some glass adhesives contain organic solvents, so ensure ventilation and wear gloves during construction to avoid contact with skin or eyes.

By selecting the appropriate adhesive and following proper construction practices, glass adhesive can significantly enhance the sealing performance and durability of container houses, reducing the frequency of later maintenance.
