Fans' Dissatisfaction with Container Houses

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

Fans' dissatisfaction with container houses mainly stems from the fact that the living conditions are far from meeting the event standards and there are safety hazards, seriously affecting the athletes' rest and preparation for competitions. The specific reasons are as follows:

Cramped and oppressive living space: The interior space of container houses is extremely limited. Although each unit has a two-bedroom and one-living-room layout, in actual living situations, the single bed is only 195 centimeters long. For basketball and volleyball players who are generally tall, their feet will hang over the edge of the bed when lying down. The aisle in a double-bed room is narrow, and two people in the room at the same time have to avoid each other. The ceiling height is only 2.2 meters, making tall athletes feel extremely oppressed.

Inadequate facilities: Each container house is only equipped with one air conditioner. In the hot and humid weather of Nagoya in September, once the door is closed, the interior quickly becomes unbearably hot. Moreover, multiple athletes share facilities such as toilets, showers, and washing machines, which is extremely inconvenient. Especially after high-intensity training, they cannot carry out personal cleaning and recovery in a timely manner, affecting their rest quality.

Poor sound insulation: The sound insulation of container houses is extremely poor. At night, noises such as the snoring of roommates next door can penetrate through the metal wall panels. Athletes have to wear earplugs to fall asleep, which further interferes with their rest.

Prominent safety hazards: The drawbacks of container houses are more prominent during heavy rain. Nagoya City once experienced heavy precipitation, and water quickly flooded into the container area, resulting in the emergency transfer of more than 400 athletes. The athletes were even worried that the containers would be washed away, posing a threat to their personal safety. In addition, the heavy rain also caused the training venue to leak, preventing athletes from carrying out normal training and affecting their preparation rhythm.
