Expansion Container House Design Drawings

Quản trị 17 tháng 9, 2026

Currently, there are no directly available design drawings for expanded container houses, but we can introduce the design points and related cases of expanded container houses.

Design Points of Expanded Container Houses

  • Space Expansion Methods: Expanding the space of a container house is mainly achieved by cutting or removing one or two side walls. This method allows for flexible changes to the internal space layout of the house according to the specific needs of the user, increasing the usable area. For example, if a larger living room space is required, the side wall at the corresponding location can be cut.
  • Sealing and Thermal Insulation Treatment: After expanding a container house, sealing and thermal insulation work are crucial. Good sealing treatment can prevent rainwater, dust, etc., from entering the interior, ensuring the dryness and cleanliness of the interior. Effective thermal insulation measures can provide a comfortable temperature environment indoors and reduce energy consumption. Usually, thermal insulation materials such as rock wool boards and polystyrene boards can be added to the inner walls of the container to improve the house's thermal insulation performance.
  • Aesthetic Design: To make expanded container houses more aesthetically pleasing, various methods can be used for painting or cladding. Different colors and materials, such as metallic paint and wooden veneer, can be chosen to create unique exterior effects. Additionally, decorative elements such as green plants and sculptures can be added to the exterior of the house to enhance its artistic atmosphere.

Cases of Expanded Container Houses

  • Office Building Designed by Distill Studio: This office building is composed of 32 containers, including 12 offices and a cantilevered conference room. The building has a colorful and lively appearance. By cleverly expanding the container space, it meets the functional needs of office work, and its unique exterior design makes it a striking landmark.
  • "Periscope Project" by ENS_projects in the United States: This project consists of five intermodal containers forming a single unit. The linear and parallel arrangement of the containers defines the outdoor courtyard and second-floor platform. The exposed areas are mainly used as auxiliary activity spaces, integrating the indoor volume with the outdoor environment. This allows natural light and ventilation to penetrate the building, providing users with a comfortable and pleasant working and leisure environment.
