Dujiangyan Prefabricated Housing
There are prefabricated panel houses in Dujiangyan, and current public information indicates that some of these prefabricated houses have issues such as aging and damage. Here is a detailed introduction:

Basic Information about the Houses: In Group 5 of Jiefang Community, Guankou Town, Dujiangyan City (now renamed as Block D of the urban village shantytown renovation project), some residents still live in prefabricated panel houses built 35 years ago. Prefabricated panel houses are a common early form of construction. They use prefabricated panels as the main structural components for floors and are assembled on-site. Under the conditions at that time, this construction method had advantages such as fast construction speed and relatively low cost, enabling it to quickly meet people's housing needs.
Current Issues with the Houses:
- Structural Damage: These prefabricated panel houses experienced the 2018 earthquake, which had a significant impact on their structures, causing multiple cracks in the walls. These cracks not only affect the appearance of the houses but, more importantly, pose a threat to their structural safety. The cracks may further expand over time and due to external factors, reducing the load-bearing capacity of the houses and even potentially leading to serious accidents such as house collapses in extreme cases.
- Leakage Problems: The houses have leakage issues, which may be caused by the aging and damage of the roof waterproof layer over long-term use or poor sealing at the joints between the prefabricated panels. Leakage not only damages the interior decoration and furniture but also affects the normal lives of residents, creating a damp living environment and fostering the growth of harmful substances such as mold, which has adverse effects on the health of residents.
- Poor Drainage: During heavy rains, alleys and courtyards accumulate water. This may be due to unreasonable design or long-term disrepair of the drainage system in the area, preventing timely drainage of rainwater. The accumulated water not only inconveniences residents' travel but may also soak the house foundations, affecting the stability of the houses.
Currently, there is no other public information available regarding Dujiangyan's prefabricated houses. For these problematic prefabricated panel houses, relevant departments may take corresponding renovation or relocation measures according to the actual situation to safeguard the lives and property of residents and improve their living conditions.
