Double Container House Self-Assembly
When self-assembling a double container house, it is crucial to focus on key aspects such as structural selection, ground treatment, connection node reinforcement, and waterproofing and moisture-proofing. The specific steps and technical points are as follows:

I. Structural Selection and Material Inspection
Double container houses typically adopt a bolt-connected modular structure, assembled from standard panels using bolts. When purchasing, it is essential to inspect the following:
- Steel Wall Thickness: The wall thickness of the columns and bottom beams directly affects the load-bearing capacity. Common specifications range from 1.5 mm to 3 mm. Thicker walls provide greater load-bearing redundancy but also increase the self-weight.
- Coating Process: Prefer containers treated with hot-dip galvanization, which have a longer corrosion-resistant lifespan than cold-dip galvanized ones. Especially in areas with significant temperature variations and humidity changes, the coating quality directly determines the rusting rate of the container.
II. Ground Treatment and Foundation Construction
The core of ground treatment is to provide a uniform load-bearing foundation for the container house, preventing uneven settlement that could lead to window and door deformation or wall cracks:
- Long-term Fixed Use: Pour a concrete strip foundation with a recommended width of 30 cm to 50 cm. The depth should be determined based on the local frost depth. The top surface of the foundation should have a levelness error of no more than 5 mm.
- Short-term Use Scenarios: Use prefabricated concrete pads or steel plates. The spacing between pads should not exceed 2 meters, and a crushed stone leveling layer should be laid beneath each pad to ensure that the load-bearing points are on the same horizontal plane.
III. Lifting and Positioning and Node Reinforcement
During the lifting process, it is crucial to precisely control the contact state between the container and the foundation to avoid unilateral stress causing container distortion:
- Lifting Requirements: Use steel wire ropes with sufficient load-bearing capacity to ensure that all lifting points are subjected to synchronous force. Immediately after the container is positioned, check the fit between the bottom beam and the foundation pads.
- Node Reinforcement: If there is local suspension, use thin steel plates to fill the gaps and use a level to check the longitudinal and transverse levelness of the bottom beam. The levelness error should be controlled within 2 mm per meter.
IV. Waterproofing, Moisture-Proofing, and Insulation Treatment
Double container houses require special attention to the waterproofing of joints and the roof, as well as the installation of internal insulation layers:
- Waterproofing Treatment: Seal the joints with waterproof sealant. For the roof, it is recommended to use triple-glazed windows or waterproof membranes to prevent rainwater leakage.
- Insulation Treatment: Based on the local temperature conditions, install internal insulation layers on the walls, roof, and floor (excluding glass parts) to ensure warmth in winter and coolness in summer.
