Donglu Mobile Toilet
Two pilot mobile public toilets using new technology have been put into use on Yuqiao Donglu and Liyuan Road in Tongzhou District. Here is a detailed introduction to the Donglu mobile toilets:

I. Pilot Locations and Application of New Technology
Two pilot mobile public toilets have been set up on Yuqiao Donglu and Liyuan Road in the sub-center (Tongzhou District). The core innovation lies in the adoption of the "Smart Micro-Water Flushing" technology. This technology achieves classified flushing through an intelligent sensing system, automatically adjusting the water volume based on usage scenarios (such as urination or defecation), avoiding the one-size-fits-all water usage model of traditional public toilets. Additionally, the toilets are equipped with a low-level exhaust system that optimizes airflow paths to quickly remove odors at the source, addressing the issue of persistent odors in traditional mobile public toilets.
II. Water Conservation and Environmental Performance
The "Smart Micro-Water Flushing" technology offers significant water conservation benefits, with a water-saving rate exceeding 90%. For example, while traditional public toilets use 6 liters per flush, the new technology reduces this to less than 0.5 liters, substantially lowering water consumption. This feature makes it particularly suitable for areas with water scarcity or high foot traffic. Furthermore, the combination of the low-level exhaust system and water-saving technology reduces sewage generation, lowering subsequent treatment costs and aligning with the development direction of green and smart sanitation facilities.
III. Future Promotion Plans
Tongzhou District has formulated a clear plan to upgrade traditional mobile public toilets with high demand and outdated facilities by 2026, focusing on promoting these green and smart public toilets. The upgrade scope will cover commercial areas with high foot traffic, transportation hubs, and old communities, gradually replacing existing traditional public toilets that consume high amounts of water and have persistent odors. This initiative not only enhances public health service levels but also provides technological support for sustainable urban development.
IV. Summary of Technological Advantages
These two pilot public toilets achieve the three goals of "water conservation, odor elimination, and easy maintenance" through the integration of intelligent and environmental technologies. The intelligent sensing system reduces human operational errors, the low-level exhaust system lowers energy consumption, and the micro-water flushing technology extends the service life of the toilets, collectively creating an efficient and low-carbon public health solution.
