Ditan Mobile Toilet
The layout and services of Ditan mobile toilets feature scientific planning and human-centered design.

I. Addition and Adjustment During the Spring Festival Temple Fair During this year's Spring Festival Temple Fair at Ditan, to cope with an average daily visitor flow of over 100,000, the management team calculated demand two weeks in advance. Based on the standard of 'at least 10 mobile toilets per kilometer during peak single-day hours,' 15 temporary public toilets were urgently added in a row along the wall of the 'Ditan Sea View' area, with site selection guided by the principle of 'meeting demand first, then considering aesthetics.' However, these toilets blocked tourists' photo opportunities, leading to complaints. On the morning of the third day of the Lunar New Year, the management team moved the entire row of toilets 10 meters south overnight, repositioning them adjacent to the existing fixed toilets at the east gate. This adjustment maintained service coverage while restoring the 'sea view' perspective, demonstrating flexibility in dynamic adjustments.
II. Fixed Layout for the 38th Temple Fair
- South Gate Entrance Area: A double-decker prefabricated restroom with barrier-free stalls is located east of the security checkpoint, providing emergency facilities for newly arrived visitors.
- Fangze Altar Square: On both the east and west sides, composite restroom clusters are installed, including men's, women's, family, and third restrooms, effectively diverting large crowds during peak hours.
- North Side of Shenma Hall Cultural and Creative Market: Eco-friendly mobile toilets are integrated with the rest area, featuring antique-style exteriors that harmonize with the surroundings.
- Behind the Bell Tower Performance Area: Smart sensor-equipped restrooms are placed near the folk stage exit, featuring automatic disinfection and fresh air systems to enhance user experience.
- Key Nodes Along the Garden Loop Road: Clear signage directs visitors to the nearest restrooms at locations such as the middle section of Ginkgo Avenue and the south side of Huangqi Hall, optimizing visitor flow.
III. Service Features All restrooms are connected to a real-time crowd monitoring system. When the queue at any location exceeds 10 people, the park's guide screens and official mini-program automatically send notifications about 'nearby available restrooms,' effectively alleviating congestion. Every location is equipped with hand sanitizer, paper towels, and hand dryers, with some offering emergency hygiene product dispensers. The cleaning team follows a '15-minute inspection routine' to ensure no odors, standing water, or stains, maintaining high hygiene standards.
Ditan mobile toilets exemplify best practices in public facility management for large-scale events through scientific demand calculation, dynamic relocation, optimized zoning, and intelligent services, balancing practicality with visitor experience.
