Container Steel Structure House Layout

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

The layout design of container steel structure houses is flexible and diverse, allowing them to be combined into spaces with different functions and areas according to needs. Common layouts include single rooms, multi-bedroom residences, and composite-function layouts. The following is an analysis from different application scenarios and structural characteristics:

1. Basic Layout: Single Container Independent Space
A single standard container (12 meters long, 2.4 meters wide, and 3 meters high) can be divided into functional areas through internal partitions to form a compact layout of "one bedroom, one living room, and one bathroom". For example, a simple kitchen and bathroom are set up at the entrance, and the remaining space is arranged with a bedroom and living area, suitable for temporary living or construction site dormitories. This type of layout has low costs (about 90-300 yuan per square meter) and a short construction period (can be completed within 7 days), but the space is cramped, and it usually requires an open layout or foldable furniture to optimize usage efficiency.

2. Multi-Container Combined Layout: Family Residences and B&Bs
By horizontally or vertically splicing multiple containers, multi-bedroom layouts can be expanded. For example:

  • Two-bedroom layout: Two containers are spliced side by side, with a public activity area in the middle and bedrooms and bathrooms arranged at both ends, with a total area of about 30-40 square meters, suitable for small families to live in.
  • Three to four-bedroom layout: Four to six containers are stacked alternately to form a two-story structure. The ground floor is equipped with a living room, kitchen, and public bathroom, and the upper floor is arranged with bedrooms and independent bathrooms, with a total area of up to 80-120 square meters. This type of layout is common in B&Bs or holiday villas, such as the container B&B customized by Qingdao Huilongfeng, where each room has an area of no less than 10 square meters and can be combined into a courtyard-style layout with 5-6 rooms.
  • Composite-function layout: Some designs combine containers with steel structure frames, for example, using containers as the main body and adding steel structures to expand the space, forming a diverse layout of "living room + bedroom + studio" to meet the dual needs of living and office work.

3. Large Public Space Layout: Event Venues and Commercial Uses
For scenarios requiring large spans (such as party venues and exhibition halls), more than 16 containers can be combined in a crisscross manner to form a four-story three-dimensional space. For example, a black steel structure container building creates an open-layout public area through modular design, combining the functions of a café, event space, and home studio. This type of layout emphasizes spatial fluidity and is usually supported by a steel structure frame, with containers embedded as functional modules, covering an area of up to several hundred square meters.

4. Special-need Layout: Mobile and Expandable Design
For temporary use scenarios, some layouts adopt foldable or expandable designs. For example, a small 10-foot container house reduces its transportation volume through a folding structure and forms a complete living space when unfolded on site; a 40-foot expandable container house increases its internal area through a slide rail device to adapt to different numbers of occupants. This type of layout is highly flexible but has relatively high costs (about 4,000-6,000 yuan per set), suitable for post-disaster reconstruction or temporary accommodation in tourist attractions.
