Water Heater for Container Mobile House

Quản trị 17 tháng 9, 2026

Container mobile houses can be equipped with water heaters, but reasonable planning and operation are required based on the house structure, water heater type, and safety regulations. The specific key points are as follows:

1. Selection of Installation Location
Priority should be given to load-bearing capacity and ease of use. Installation on lightweight roofs or walls is prohibited. Instead, choose load-bearing walls or reinforced areas inside the container to avoid structural deformation caused by the weight of the water heater. Meanwhile, the installation point should be close to water-using areas (such as shower rooms and kitchens) to reduce pipe length and minimize heat loss. For example, in a 1.8×2.1-meter mobile shower room, the water heater is usually fixed on the top load-bearing beam or side wall to ensure that the bottom wheels can move without being affected.

2. Adaptation of Fixing Methods
Select a fixing plan according to the type of water heater:

  • Electric/Gas Water Heaters: These are relatively lightweight (usually < 50kg) and can be directly fixed to the wall using metal brackets with expansion bolts. The brackets should have a flat contact surface with the wall, and the bolts should be tightened without looseness.
  • Solar Water Heaters: These are heavier (the water tank may exceed 100kg), and a custom steel frame structure is required. It should be fixed by multiple expansion screws penetrating the container steel plate to ensure a stable connection between the steel frame and the main body of the house.

3. Mandatory Safety Regulations

  • Fire Prevention and Ventilation: The installation location should be at least 50cm away from flammable materials such as curtains and wood. Gas water heaters must be equipped with a carbon monoxide alarm, and the ventilation opening should be no more than 30cm from the ground. Installation in bathrooms (for gas types) or confined spaces (for electric types) is prohibited.
  • Electrical Safety: Electric water heaters require separate wiring (wire diameter ≥ 4mm²), connection to a leakage protection switch, and a grounding resistance ≤ 4Ω. Operating the control panel with wet hands is strictly prohibited.
  • Leak Prevention Measures: The container floor should have a waterproof layer (thickness ≥ 1.5mm polyurethane coating), and a drainage trough should be set up below the water heater to prevent condensation or leakage water from eroding the house structure.

4. Standardized Installation Steps

  • Preliminary Preparation: Check the water heater model and accessories (such as safety valves and mixing valves), and prepare tools such as an impact drill and a level. Evaluate the space inside the container to ensure that the height of the water heater (including the bracket) does not exceed the door frame and that the wall load-bearing capacity is at least twice the self-weight of the water heater.
  • Main Body Installation: Mark the hole positions for the hanging plate on the wall, drill holes with an impact drill (the hole diameter should match the expansion bolts), install the bolts, and then install the bracket. Use a level to calibrate the error ≤ 2mm. Two people should collaborate to lift the water heater and hang it on the bracket, and confirm that the buckle is locked and there is no looseness when gently shaken.
  • Pipe Connection: Connect the cold water inlet pipe to the main water valve, the hot water outlet pipe to the mixing valve, and the safety valve drain outlet to the drainage pipe. The electric water heater requires a separate connection to a 30mA leakage protection switch, and the gas pipe of the gas water heater should be sealed with Teflon tape at the interface.
  • Commissioning and Acceptance: Conduct a water flow test for 30 minutes to check for pipe leakage. After power-on/gas supply, start the water heater and observe whether the heating function, leakage protection switch tripping test, and safety valve pressure relief (automatic drainage when the water temperature ≥ 75°C) are normal.

Special Case Reference: A 1.8×2.1-meter mobile shower room usually adopts an integrated design, with the water heater, bathroom heater, and showerhead pre-installed on the top or side. When the bottom wheels move, the water heater bracket should be fixed to prevent shaking. Meanwhile, ensure that the light switch and socket have a waterproof rating ≥ IPX4 to avoid short circuits caused by shower water splashing in.
