Insulation Panels for Container Mobile Houses

Quản trị 17 tháng 9, 2026

Insulation panels for container mobile houses require a combination of material selection, structural design, and construction details to achieve efficient thermal insulation. Here are specific measures and key points:

1. Select thermal insulation materials with low thermal conductivity
The core of thermal insulation in container mobile houses lies in material performance. Common materials include:

  • Expanded Polystyrene (EPS): Low thermal conductivity (approximately 0.03-0.04 W/(m·K)), low cost, but average fire resistance, requiring the use of fire-resistant coatings.
  • Polyurethane Foam Board (PU): Even lower thermal conductivity (approximately 0.02-0.03 W/(m·K)), closed-cell structure providing waterproofing, suitable for humid environments, but higher price.
  • Rock Wool Board: Made from basalt, with a thermal conductivity of about 0.03-0.04 W/(m·K), high-temperature resistance (up to over 600°C), fire rating of Class A, but high water absorption requiring moisture-proof treatment.
  • Sandwich Panels: Commonly color-coated steel sandwich panels (such as polyurethane-cored or rock wool-cored), combining structural strength with thermal insulation performance, a common choice for container houses.

2. Add multiple layers of thermal insulation structure
Form a composite barrier by stacking insulation layers:

  • External Insulation Layer: Install insulation boards (such as polyurethane or rock wool boards) on the exterior surface of the container, covered with metal sheets or waterproof membranes to block external heat transfer.
  • Internal Insulation Panels: Lay insulation materials (such as EPS boards) on the interior walls of the container, covered with gypsum boards or decorative panels to reduce indoor heat loss.
  • Air Layer Design: Reserve a 5-10cm air layer between the insulation layer and the container wall, utilizing the low thermal conductivity of air to enhance insulation effect, but pay attention to moisture-proof treatment.

3. Optimize door and window sealing and thermal insulation
Doors and windows are the main channels for heat loss and require special attention:

  • Use Insulated Glass: Double or triple-glazed units (such as 6mm+12A+6mm) can have a thermal conductivity as low as 0.8-1.0 W/(m²·K), saving over 50% energy compared to single-glazed units.
  • Install Sealing Strips: Install rubber or silicone sealing strips around the edges of doors and windows to reduce air infiltration, paying special attention to the sealing of corners and joints.
  • Shading Design: External shading panels or blinds can block direct sunlight, reducing indoor temperature fluctuations.

4. Detail handling to ensure system sealing
Thermal insulation effect depends on construction precision:

  • Material Jointing: Insulation boards should be laid with staggered joints and filled with special adhesives or expanding foam to avoid thermal bridges.
  • Connection Treatment: The connections between the container and the insulation layer, and between the door/window frames and the walls, should be sealed with weather-resistant sealants to prevent rainwater penetration and air leakage.
  • Structural Integration: The insulation layer should be firmly fixed to the container frame to avoid cracking due to vibration or deformation, affecting thermal insulation performance.

By implementing these measures, container mobile houses can achieve a temperature reduction of 6-8°C in summer and an increase of 4-6°C in winter, significantly improving living comfort and reducing energy consumption.
