Container House with Water Pipe
Quản trị 14 tháng 9, 2026
The design and installation of container houses with water pipes require special attention to drainage system planning and construction specifications to ensure the durability and functionality of the houses. The following explains from three dimensions: design, installation, and maintenance:

I. Design Principles of the Drainage System
The drainage system is one of the core functional modules of container houses, directly affecting their service life. A well-designed drainage system needs to meet two requirements:
- Structural Adaptability: The drainage path should be designed according to the roof slope of the container house (usually 2%-5%) to ensure that rainwater or domestic water can quickly flow to the preset pipes. For example, when installing a packing-box unit, a water pipe interface should be reserved on the roof panel, and the interface position should be aligned with the lowest point of the roof to avoid water accumulation.
- Material Durability: Water pipes should be made of corrosion-resistant and aging-resistant materials (such as PVC or galvanized steel pipes) and equipped with anti-freezing designs (such as insulation layers) to adapt to different climatic conditions. For example, in northern regions, the risk of water pipes freezing and cracking in winter should be considered, and solutions such as electric tracing or increasing the pipe burial depth can be adopted.
II. Installation Construction Specifications
Water pipe installation should strictly follow construction steps to ensure structural stability:
- Foundation Preparation: Before installation, ensure that the ground is level and verify the squareness of the container frame by measuring the diagonal dimensions. If the ground is uneven, it should be corrected by adjusting the shims at the bottom of the columns or pouring a concrete foundation.
- Pipe Fixing: The downspout should be installed vertically from the roof interface to the ground drain, and the connection between the pipe and the container frame should be fixed with metal clamps to prevent shaking. For example, in the installation guide for packing-box units from Falilai, it is clearly required that "the outer edges of the columns should be perpendicular and flush with the top and ground frame outer edges before fixing the screws", and this principle also applies to water pipe fixing.
- Sealing Treatment: Waterproof glue should be applied or Teflon tape should be wrapped around pipe interfaces to prevent leakage. A waterproof cover can be installed at the roof interface to prevent rainwater from flowing back.
III. Maintenance and Optimization Suggestions
Regular maintenance can extend the service life of the drainage system:
- Cleaning and Inspection: Clean debris (such as leaves and dust) from the roof drainage troughs and downspouts every quarter to prevent blockages.
- Anti-corrosion Treatment: Regularly apply anti-rust paint to metal pipes and check PVC pipes for signs of aging and cracking.
- Functional Upgrades: A rainwater collection system can be added according to needs to divert roof rainwater to storage tanks for irrigation or flushing, achieving water resource recycling. For example, some container renovation projects design shower room rainwater collection modules, which purify rainwater through filtration devices for non-potable water use.
