Container House with Belt

Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026

Container houses are a form of architecture that transforms shipping containers into livable or office spaces. They are characterized by environmental protection, energy efficiency, flexible combination, and convenient transportation. They are widely used in scenarios such as construction site dormitories, field operation housing, office housing, and temporary housing at tourist attractions.

Construction Mode of Container Houses

Container houses adopt a modular design, dividing the entire building into independent housing modules. Most of the construction processes, including the main structure, water and electricity pipelines, bathroom waterproofing, sanitary equipment, cabinets, and wardrobes, are completed inside the factory. These modules are then transported to the project site and assembled like building blocks. This construction mode changes the traditional logic of on-site construction brick by brick, adopting a parallel operation mode where multiple processes are carried out simultaneously, improving construction efficiency. For example, China's first steel structure modular intelligent production line can produce up to 50 modules per day, with a production capacity ten times that of similar factories in North America, and a manufacturing precision stably controlled between 1 and 2 millimeters.

Types of Container Houses

The family of container houses encompasses various types to meet different needs. There are container dormitories suitable for construction sites and factories, providing living spaces for workers; container shops and cafes that empower entrepreneurship, reducing startup costs and risks; container offices and mobile board houses that facilitate efficient office work, meeting temporary office needs; as well as special-purpose containers suitable for specific scenarios, and custom-made containers and container-renovated houses that can be tailored according to requirements.

Advantages of Container Houses

  • Low Cost: Compared to traditional brick-and-mortar houses, office building rentals, and shop rentals, container houses can save more than half of the cost or even more. For example, a 100㎡ container office costs only tens of thousands of yuan and can be reused; a 15㎡ container shop, including customization and decoration, costs between 30,000 and 50,000 yuan. It is not picky about locations and can be relocated later, reducing entrepreneurship risks.
  • Flexible and Convenient: No complex civil engineering works or laborious disassembly are required. As long as the site is level, the entire house can be relocated using a professional trailer. The relocation process does not damage the house structure or generate construction waste. After being moved to a new site, it can be used simply by being fixed in place.
  • Green and Environmentally Friendly: They align with environmental protection concepts, reducing the impact on the environment during construction and use.
