Container House with Air Conditioner

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

The configuration of air conditioners in container houses varies significantly depending on the usage scenario and design purpose, and in some cases, the air conditioning configuration is difficult to meet actual needs.

I. Prominent Air Conditioning Configuration Issues in Container Houses at the Nagoya Asian Games

At the Nagoya Asian Games, the organizing committee adopted container houses as accommodation facilities for athletes to cut costs. Each unit consisted of two households, with each household planned as a two-bedroom, one-living-room layout providing accommodation for three people, but the entire house was equipped with only one air conditioner. In September, Nagoya was hot and humid, and the container houses were highly airtight with poor thermal insulation, making it difficult for a single air conditioner to effectively regulate the indoor temperature. The organizing committee even suggested that athletes open the door to cool the entire room before going to bed at night and then close the door to sleep, which fully indicates that the air conditioning configuration was insufficient and unable to meet the basic needs of athletes in hot weather.

II. Multiple Factors Influence the Air Conditioning Configuration of Container Houses

The air conditioning configuration of container houses is not arbitrary but is constrained by various factors such as cost, space, and usage scenario. At the Nagoya Asian Games, the organizing committee chose to reduce the number of air conditioners to save costs, resulting in a poor living environment for athletes. In addition, the limited space within container houses makes it difficult to install multiple air conditioners due to space layout issues. Meanwhile, different usage scenarios have different requirements for air conditioning configuration. For example, temporary office spaces may have lower requirements for the cooling effect of air conditioners, while athlete accommodations require stronger cooling capacity and more uniform temperature distribution.

III. Rational Air Conditioning Configuration is Key to Improving the Living Experience in Container Houses

To enhance the living experience in container houses, rational air conditioning configuration is crucial. The number and power of air conditioners should be scientifically determined based on factors such as the usage scenario, number of occupants, and space size of the house. At the same time, attention should be paid to the installation location and ventilation design of air conditioners to ensure uniform indoor temperature and air circulation.
