Container House Window Sealing Requirements

Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026

When sealing windows in container houses, it is essential to focus on material, sealing, installation, and maintenance requirements, as detailed below:

Material and Structural Requirements

The window materials for container houses must meet strength, sealing, and durability requirements. Standard window dimensions are typically 1200 millimeters in width and 900 millimeters in height, utilizing aluminum alloy tempered coated hollow casement windows that provide thermal insulation. For glass configurations, double-glazed units (such as a 5+12A+5 combination) are a common choice, where the air gap thickness can be adjusted according to manufacturer specifications but must be no less than 12 millimeters, with only the outer glass pane coated to control light and regulate heat. Window frame materials should be national standard thermal-break aluminum, with a thickness of at least 1.4 millimeters and a cross-sectional size such as 60mm×50mm. The width of a single window frame should not exceed 3 meters, and additional reinforcing splices must be added during assembly to ensure structural stability.

Sealing and Waterproofing Requirements

Sealing is a core indicator of window sealing. Sealant must be applied around the windows, at container body joints, and in roof gutters, and the sealant should be replaced regularly (every 5-7 years) to prevent leaks caused by aging. During installation, ensure a 15-millimeter gap is left between the window frame and the container structure frame, and secure it with angle irons, nails, adhesive, and other accessories to prevent gaps due to thermal expansion, contraction, or vibration. Additionally, the roof should be designed with a drainage slope to prevent water accumulation and reduce the risk of corrosion to the window frames.

Installation Process Requirements

The installation process must strictly adhere to process specifications. The connection between the window frame and the container body must be flat to avoid localized stress concentrations, which could lead to window frame deformation or sealing failure. For glass curtain wall-type windows, professional manufacturers should provide and install the connection accessories to ensure consistent frame colors (such as white fluorocarbon coating) and meet performance requirements for wind pressure resistance and airtightness. After installation, use a level to check the verticality and levelness of the window frame, with an error margin of no more than 2 millimeters per meter to ensure smooth opening and closing and effective sealing.

Maintenance and Corrosion Protection Requirements

The steel body of the container house requires regular corrosion protection maintenance, with particular attention to easily corroded areas such as welds, corners, and the base of the window sealing area. Inspect the welds and sealant condition annually, and immediately sand and repaint any small rust spots to prevent rust spread. In humid regions (such as the south or coastal areas), the cycle for reapplying anti-corrosion coatings should be shortened to 3-5 years to extend the lifespan of the window frames.
