Container House Wall Thickness

Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026

The wall thickness of container houses typically ranges from 50mm to 100mm, depending on the type of house and design requirements.

  1. Packing-box Container Houses:
The wall material of packing-box container houses usually adopts color-steel glass wool sandwich panels, with a thickness of 75mm, and the thickness of both inner and outer color-steel plates is 0.45mm. This structure performs well in terms of thermal insulation, sound insulation, and fire resistance, making it suitable for scenarios such as construction site dormitories and office areas.

  2. Modular Container Houses:
The prefabricated walls of modular container houses have a wider thickness range, from 50mm to 100mm. The core material of the sandwich panels can be selected according to customer needs, either EPS (expanded polystyrene) or rock wool. Rock wool offers better fire resistance, while EPS is more cost-effective. This flexibility allows modular container houses to adapt to different usage scenarios, such as cultural tourism homestays and elderly care residences.

  3. Light Steel Frame Houses:
Although light steel frame houses do not belong to traditional container houses, their design concept is similar to that of container houses, both adopting a modular structure. The walls are filled with thermal insulation materials, and the thickness can be adjusted according to actual needs. The appearance and layout can be flexibly customized. This type of house is suitable for self-built houses, homestays, and supporting facilities in scenic areas.

  4. Relationship Between Material and Performance:
The wall thickness directly affects the thermal insulation, sound insulation, and fire resistance performance of container houses. Thicker walls (e.g., 100mm) usually use rock wool sandwich panels, providing better fire resistance and thermal insulation, suitable for scenarios with high safety requirements. Thinner walls (e.g., 50mm) may use EPS sandwich panels, which are more cost-effective and suitable for temporary housing or projects with limited budgets.

  5. Design Flexibility:
The wall thickness of container houses is not fixed; manufacturers can customize it according to customer needs. For example, some projects may require thicker walls to meet thermal insulation requirements under extreme climate conditions, while others may prioritize cost-effectiveness and choose thinner walls.
