Container House Wall Thickness

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

The wall thickness of container houses varies depending on the type and purpose, generally ranging from 0.45mm to 100mm. Details are as follows:

Packing-box container houses: The wall material is usually a color-steel glass-wool sandwich panel, with the inner and outer color-steel plates typically being 0.45mm thick, and the intermediate sandwich layer having specifications such as 75mm in thickness. This structure combines thermal insulation and fire resistance, making it suitable for construction site dormitories, office areas, and other scenarios.

Modular container houses: The thickness of prefabricated walls ranges widely, from 50mm, 75mm, to 100mm. The core material of the sandwich panel can be selected according to needs, either EPS or rock wool. By adjusting the thickness of the sandwich layer, different thermal insulation and sound insulation effects can be achieved. These are commonly found in long-term use scenarios such as cultural tourism homestays and elderly care residences.

Container corrugated plate structures: The outer layer of the wall is roll-formed from weather-resistant steel plates or galvanized steel plates, with thicknesses ranging from 1.2mm to 3.0mm. Such structures are mostly used in scenarios with high weather resistance requirements, where the thickness of the steel plate directly affects the house's wind and earthquake resistance. For example, the container board houses of Suzhou Zhongnan use a galvanized steel structure frame with a thickness of ≥2.0mm, capable of withstanding wind forces of up to Level 10.

Customized products for special scenarios: Some projects adjust the wall thickness according to functional requirements. For instance, a product in Erdos adopts a 75mm wall thickness design, combined with a steel frame to achieve comprehensive performance in wind, earthquake, and moisture resistance; while the wall of a light steel keel house, after being filled with thermal insulation material, may have its thickness further increased to enhance thermal performance.

It should be noted that wall thickness is closely related to the house's thermal insulation, sound insulation, fire resistance, and other performance aspects. When selecting a type, it is necessary to consider the climatic conditions, safety requirements, and budget of the use scenario comprehensively, while also paying attention to key quality indicators such as steel corrosion protection treatment and welding processes.
