Container House Switch Fixation
The key points for fixing switches in container houses include selecting the appropriate switch type, following installation specifications, ensuring firm fixation, and paying attention to safety considerations.

Switch Type Selection
In container houses, surface-mounted switches and sockets are commonly used. They are produced using full PC materials, offering excellent flame retardancy, smooth panels, and a good feel for the switch buttons. The base features a honeycomb anti-crack design, enhancing sturdiness by over 30% and making it more suitable for nail installation. They eliminate the need for pre-burying wires and bottom boxes, allowing for more flexible wiring, easy installation, and convenient maintenance in case of faults later on. Flush-mounted switches and sockets are also used; their flat panels can be separated from the bases, but installation requires pre-burying flush-mounted bottom boxes and wiring conduits in the walls, with lines needing to be pre-designed, making subsequent changes more difficult.
Installation Specifications
- Position Requirements: Switches should be installed 1.2 - 1.4m above the ground, 15 - 20cm horizontally from the door frame, and the switch position should correspond to the light position for easy operation. Switch heights in the same room should be consistent.
- Installation Process: First, determine the actual installation position according to the floor plan for switch and socket layout. Analyze and fix the wall and floor positions based on the wire routing and laying size. Create wall grooves for wiring according to the home improvement water and electricity laying direction, paying attention to the groove depth and being careful when bending wires through walls. Embed plastic expansion tubes or wooden wedges at the switch and socket installation positions. After embedding the junction boxes, pull the wires in and insert them into protective conduits, being careful at bends. After threading the wires, install the switches and sockets and tighten the screws.
Fixation Requirements
- Push the switch body with connected wires into the bottom box, perform initial fixation using the switch's own fixing screws, then use a level to ensure the position is flat, tighten the screws with a screwdriver, and finally cover with a decorative panel to ensure firm installation, with no gaps around the panel tightly against the wall. Fixation with only one screw is not allowed.
Safety Considerations
- Check if the colors of the incoming and outgoing wires of the switch are consistent and whether they follow the principle of "live wire into the switch."
- Check if the wires are tightly pressed into the terminal blocks and that there are no exposed wires outside.
- The power wires connected to the switch are generally pre-buried. When installing the switch, pay attention to whether the wires are protected by PVC conduits.
