Container House Spacing
It is generally recommended that the spacing between container houses be at least 6 meters, with the following specific justifications:

I. Safety Regulation Requirements
According to fire safety technical specifications, a minimum safety distance of 6 meters must be maintained between container houses. This requirement is primarily based on fire prevention considerations, ensuring that in the event of a fire, the flames do not rapidly spread to adjacent containers while also providing operational space for firefighting and rescue efforts. For use in densely populated areas such as construction sites, this distance represents the minimum standard for protecting life and property.
II. Functional Layout Requirements
In actual projects, the spacing between containers needs to be flexibly adjusted based on their function:
Temporary Building Complexes: For scenarios such as dormitories and offices, in addition to meeting fire safety distances, considerations must also be given to ventilation, lighting, and personnel evacuation routes. For example, multi-story stacked containers (such as a 6-story dormitory) require staggered layouts to ensure side lighting, which may result in spacing being expanded to 8-10 meters.
Commercial Complexes: For large-scale combined structures like container parks (e.g., BOXPARK), spacing must also accommodate commercial circulation design. For instance, exhibition halls or民宿 (homestay) lobbies formed by horizontally joined containers may use cantilevered structures to reduce ground occupation. However, openings are strictly prohibited in the cantilevered sections, and diagonal bracing must be added. In such cases, spacing must be determined based on structural calculations.
Special-Purpose Containers: Medical containers, explosion-proof containers, etc., require additional safety buffers, with distances potentially exceeding 6 meters.
III. Structural and Transportation Constraints
Transportation Phase: Standard containers (e.g., 20-foot containers measuring 6.058 meters in length and 40-foot containers measuring 12.192 meters) must meet road width restrictions during transportation, and spacing between containers must account for捆绑加固 (strapping and securing) space.
Installation Phase: When stacking containers vertically, corner fittings are the sole load-bearing points, requiring precise alignment and locking to ensure structural stability. If spacing is too small, it may affect the operational space for lifting equipment.
Non-Standard Customization: For foldable or adjustable container modules (e.g., wall panel flipping designs), spacing must be dynamically adjusted based on the dimensions after unfolding.
