Container House Side Panel Materials

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

Common materials for container house side panels include corrugated steel plates, galvanized sheets, stainless steel plates, aluminum alloy plates, and composite sandwich panels, etc.. Here is a detailed introduction:

  1. Corrugated Steel Plates
Corrugated steel plates are the core material for container side panels. They are pressed into a wavy structure through cold-rolling or hot-rolling processes, significantly enhancing the plate's strength and resistance to deformation. Their surfaces are usually galvanized to form a zinc-iron alloy protective layer, effectively resisting corrosion in harsh environments such as salt spray and humidity. For example, the container side panels produced by Cangzhou Xinhe use 1.0-2.0mm thick galvanized corrugated steel plates with a wave depth of 36mm and a wave width of 208mm, conforming to ISO standards and widely used in maritime and land containers.

  2. Galvanized Sheets
Galvanized sheets are coated with a zinc layer on the surface of steel plates through hot-dip galvanizing or electro-galvanizing processes. The zinc layer thickness in hot-dip galvanizing can reach over 80μm, providing excellent corrosion resistance. The galvanized container side panels supplied by Chongqing manufacturers use hot-dip galvanizing processes, where the zinc layer forms a metallurgical bond with the steel plate, remaining rust-free for over 10 years in salt spray environments, suitable for coastal or high-humidity areas.

  3. Stainless Steel Plates
304/316L stainless steel side panels offer higher corrosion resistance, especially suitable for strongly corrosive environments such as chemical and marine applications. The 304 stainless steel corrugated plates sold by Tianjin Yichi have a thickness of 0.3-0.8mm, with a high surface finish, directly usable for food-grade containers or high-end mobile homes. Their drawback is the higher cost, approximately 2-3 times that of ordinary galvanized sheets.

  4. Aluminum Alloy Plates
Aluminum alloy side panels (such as 5052/6061 alloys) are characterized by low density, corrosion resistance, and ease of processing, weighing only one-third of steel plates, significantly reducing the self-weight of containers. Some high-end container mobile homes use aluminum alloy side panels paired with insulated glass windows and doors to achieve both lightweight and energy-saving goals.

  5. Composite Sandwich Panels
Rock wool/polyurethane sandwich panels are composed of metal panels on both sides (galvanized sheets or aluminum alloy plates) and an intermediate insulation layer, combining structural strength with thermal insulation properties. For example, the metal carved panel side panels produced by Shandong Leertong have a thickness of 20-50mm and a thermal conductivity of ≤0.024W/(m·K), meeting the insulation needs of northern cold regions.
