Container House Roof Renovation Plan

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

The container house roof renovation plan mainly includes increasing roof insulation height, using reflective insulation coatings, selecting appropriate roofing materials, and ensuring proper waterproofing.

  • Increasing Roof Insulation Height:

    • Raising the roof can increase indoor space while effectively improving insulation. By raising the ceiling, an air insulation layer can be formed between the original roof and the indoor ceiling, reducing heat transfer. For example, a container house in San Antonio, Texas, successfully solved indoor insulation issues by raising the roof.
  • Using Reflective Insulation Coatings:

    • Reflective insulation coatings are a cost-effective and efficient insulation solution. Their principle is to reduce the absorption of infrared radiation from sunlight through the reflective effect of the coating, thereby lowering the roof surface temperature. Under normal circumstances, using reflective insulation coatings can reduce the roof surface temperature by more than ten degrees Celsius and lower the indoor temperature by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius. During construction, the roof should be cleaned first, cracks repaired, and the waterproof layer ensured to be intact before evenly applying 2-3 coats of the coating.
  • Selecting Appropriate Roofing Materials and Ensuring Proper Waterproofing:

    • Roofing Material Selection: Steel and aluminum alloys have excellent strength and durability, making them suitable as roofing materials; waterproof fabrics are low-cost and easy to install but may require regular replacement.
    • Waterproofing: Roof waterproofing is the foundation of insulation renovation. Waterproofing must be done before laying insulation materials. Waterproof coatings can be used to comprehensively coat the roof to enhance waterproofing capabilities. At the same time, the connection between the roof and the container must be tightly sealed to prevent rainwater infiltration.
  • Designing a Reasonable Support Structure:

    • If planning to construct an arched or other form of roof on the container, a reasonable support structure must be designed. Steel frames or aluminum alloy brackets can be used as the main supports to ensure the flatness and stability of the roof. The support structure should be bent according to the roof's curvature, and crossbeams or steel plates should be added to the top of the container to enhance load-bearing capacity.
