Container House Roof Drainage Modification

Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026

Container house roof drainage modification can be achieved through methods such as installing concrete splash blocks, optimizing drainage system design, and strengthening roof waterproofing.

  1. Install Concrete Splash Blocks
Traditional metal rainwater heads are prone to rusting and deformation, which can lead to poor drainage or even blockage over long-term use. Referring to Lao Chen's method of roof drainage modification, remove the old metal rainwater heads and replace them with concrete splash blocks. Concrete is compressive and corrosion-resistant, providing strong stability when cast integrally with the roof surface, especially suitable for flat roofs, balconies, and other areas prone to water accumulation. Its edge design fits snugly against the drainage pipe, effectively filtering out leaves and debris, reducing the frequency of cleaning, and ensuring smooth drainage.

  2. Optimize Drainage System Design
According to the structural characteristics of the container house, plan the drainage slope reasonably to ensure that rainwater can quickly flow to the drainage outlets. For flat roofs, a slope can be created by locally elevating or laying water guide plates; for sloped roofs, check whether the splicing of tiles or metal sheets is tight to prevent rainwater infiltration. At the same time, increase the number of drainage outlets or enlarge the drainage pipe diameter to enhance drainage capacity and prevent water accumulation during heavy rain.

  3. Strengthen Roof Waterproofing
Before drainage modification, conduct comprehensive waterproofing treatment on the roof. Apply waterproofing adhesive or lay waterproofing membranes to enhance the roof's waterproofing performance and reduce the pressure on the drainage system from rainwater penetration. If the container roof is made of metal, regularly inspect and apply anti-rust paint to prevent rusting and leakage.

  4. Regular Maintenance and Inspection
After the drainage system modification is completed, regularly clean debris from the drainage outlets and water pipes to prevent blockage. At the same time, check the fixation of the concrete splash blocks or metal drainage heads to ensure they have not loosened due to vibration or weathering. If poor drainage or leakage is found, repair or replace the components promptly.
