Raising Pets in Container Houses

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

Container houses can be used to raise pets, but multiple conditions must be met.

Legal Compliance

  • Procedure Reporting: For large-scale pet breeding, such as for commercial operations or specific purposes, relevant procedures must be completed. For example, breeding rabbits on a large scale for scientific research requires a special breeding permit; raising meat rabbits requires a public environmental condition compliance certificate and reporting to the epidemic prevention station. A family farm in Zhangxi Community, Nanjing, which raised rabbits in containers without any permits, was ordered by law enforcement to immediately clear the site.
  • Adherence to Lease Agreements: If renting a container house to raise pets, the lease agreement must be followed. If the contract explicitly prohibits raising pets, the tenant's private pet-raising may constitute a breach of contract, requiring the tenant to bear liability for breach of contract; if the contract specifies the breed, quantity, and method of raising pets, the tenant should also strictly comply, otherwise constituting a breach.

Environmental Hygiene

  • Ventilation and Temperature Control: Ensure air circulation inside the container by installing ventilation equipment. At the same time, control the temperature according to the pet's habits, such as installing air conditioning for rabbits to ensure they are warm in winter and cool in summer.
  • Waste Disposal: Properly dispose of pet waste and avoid direct discharge into the surrounding environment to prevent pollution. The family farm in Zhangxi Community, Nanjing, discharged rabbit wastewater and feces directly into surrounding ponds, posing environmental safety hazards.
  • Hygiene and Cleaning: Regularly clean and disinfect the entire container house to maintain a clean and hygienic living environment, reduce bacterial growth, and ensure pet health.

Pet Welfare

  • Space Design: Design a reasonable spatial layout based on the pet's species and habits. For example, cats like high places and hidden corners, so cat trees can be installed in the container; dogs need spacious activity areas, so dedicated spaces can be allocated.
  • Facility Provision: Provide necessary living facilities for pets, such as food bowls, water bowls, cat beds, dog beds, etc., to meet their daily needs.
