Container House Polishing Process
Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026
The polishing process of container houses mainly involves surface treatment after steel cutting and welding, as well as fine polishing of cabinet bodies or wall panels, with the aim of preventing rust, improving surface flatness, and enhancing aesthetics.

I. Polishing of Steel Frames
The core structure of container houses is a steel frame. The polishing process usually takes place after steel cutting and welding:
- Post-cutting and Welding Treatment: All cut edges and welded joints of the steel need to be initially polished to remove burrs, welding slag, and oxide layers, ensuring a flat cut. For example, when welding the chassis crossbeams, columns, and roof ring beams, the fully welded parts need to be polished to prevent the weld beads from protruding and affecting structural stability.
- Polishing before Anti-rust Primer Application: Before applying epoxy zinc-rich primer, the steel surface needs to be polished a second time to meet the Sa2.5 rust removal standard (no visible grease, dirt, oxide scale, etc. on the metal surface), enhancing the adhesion of the primer. For example, container houses in coastal areas require stricter polishing due to high humidity to prevent salt spray corrosion.
- Local Repair Polishing: During transportation or installation, if the frame has scratches or dents, it needs to be polished and repainted in a timely manner to prevent rust from spreading.
II. Polishing of Cabinet Bodies or Wall Panels
If solid wood cabinet bodies or special wall panels are used inside container houses, fine polishing is required:
- Rough Polishing Stage: Use 180 - 240 grit sandpaper with an electric sander to polish the surface of the panels over a large area, removing burrs, protrusions, and machining marks. For example, rubberwood solid wood panels, due to their rough surface, need to be roughly polished until they feel smooth.
- Fine Polishing Stage: Switch to 320 - 400 grit sandpaper for a second polishing, focusing on details such as edges and joints to ensure a surface flatness error of ≤0.5mm. For example, the corners of cabinet bodies need to be manually polished with diamond sand blocks to avoid sharp edges that could cause injury.
- Polishing before Surface Treatment: Before applying wood wax oil or water-based paint, use 600 - 800 grit sandpaper for final polishing to enhance the adhesion of the paint film. For example, solid wood maintenance wood wax needs to penetrate into the wood fibers, and the polishing quality directly affects the moisture resistance.
