Container House Panel Edge Sealing

Quản trị 17 tháng 9, 2026

The edge sealing of container house panels primarily employs materials and techniques such as sealing strips, polyurethane sealants, and waterproof cover plates. Through filling and covering methods, joint sealing is achieved to ensure the waterproof and thermal insulation properties of the house.

Wall Panel Joint Sealing Techniques

The joints of wall panels in container houses are critical areas for sealing. Vertical joints are typically sealed using two methods:

  • Sealing Strips: These are directly inserted into the joints, utilizing their elasticity to accommodate the thermal expansion and contraction of the panels, preventing rainwater infiltration.
  • Polyurethane Sealant: Injected into the gaps using a caulking gun, it is smoothed out and cures to form an elastic sealing layer. This material has strong adhesion, can fill small gaps, and exhibits excellent weather resistance, maintaining its sealing effect over the long term.

In terms of material selection, container houses with polyurethane-sealed sandwich panels often use Tianfeng rock wool (PU-sealed) or polyurethane sandwich panels as wall panels. These panels inherently possess good sealing properties, but additional treatment at the joints is still necessary to enhance overall waterproofing.

Roof Sealing Considerations

The roof is a crucial area for waterproofing in container houses, with particular attention needed at the lap joints of the roof panels:

  • Waterproof Cover Plate Installation: Specialized waterproof cover plates are installed at the lap joints of the roof panels, covering the joints to prevent direct rainwater impact.
  • Sealant Application: Polyurethane sealant is applied beneath the cover plates to form a secondary waterproof barrier. The sealant must be evenly applied to ensure full adhesion with the cover plates and roof panels, avoiding any gaps.

Edge Sealing for Doors, Windows, and Ventilation Windows

The sealing of openings such as doors, windows, and ventilation windows in container houses directly affects the house's thermal insulation and wind resistance. Treatment methods include:

  • Edge Fixing: Specialized edge strips or metal frames are used to fix the edges of doors and windows, ensuring tight contact with the wall panels.
  • Sealant Injection: Polyurethane foam or silicone sealant is injected into the joints between doors, windows, and wall panels to fill gaps, block air circulation, and improve thermal insulation.

Through these techniques, the edge sealing of container house panels effectively prevents rainwater leakage and air infiltration while enhancing structural stability and extending service life.
