Odor of Container Houses

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

New residential container houses usually have a slight odor, while older ones have less. The specific intensity of the odor depends on factors such as the age of the container house, the quality and price of the supplier's products, etc..

Sources of Odor

The odor in new residential container houses mainly comes from the use of adhesives, wall panels, and other materials during the production process. If you opt for cheaper products when purchasing, the adhesives and wall panels used may be of lower quality, increasing the risk of odor. In contrast, older residential container houses, after being exposed to the sun and ventilated during project turnover, are generally odor-free.

Methods to Eliminate Odor

  • Open Windows for Ventilation: Residential container houses are equipped with doors and windows. Opening them regularly ensures good air circulation inside the container, effectively reducing the odor.
  • Place Potted Plants: Put potted plants such as ivy, mint, and cacti inside the container house. These plants can absorb odors in the air and purify it.
  • Use Charcoal Packs: Place charcoal packs in every corner of the container house. Charcoal packs are adsorptive and can be purchased online, effectively removing odors.
  • Use Deodorizing Cleaners: Purchase deodorizing cleaners and wipe the walls and floors of the container house with a cloth. Continuous use for a few days can eliminate odors.
  • Use Buckets of Saltwater: Prepare a large bucket, fill it with clean water, and dissolve a pack of salt in it. Place the bucket inside the container house. After a few days, the paint odor and other smells will significantly decrease.

Relationship Between Product Quality and Odor

Generally, container houses produced by large factories have higher requirements in terms of craftsmanship and technology. The materials used are often better than those in cheaper products, resulting in relatively less odor. Therefore, you should not judge the quality of a product solely based on its price but should distinguish it based on product details. Products produced by large factories also have higher safety standards.
