Container House Micro Residence

Quản trị 14 tháng 9, 2026

A container house micro residence is a micro-building unit transformed from a container, equipped with residential functions. It features modularity, mobility, environmental friendliness, and cost-effectiveness. The following is an introduction from multiple aspects:

Construction Methods

  • Modular Production: Container house micro residences use containers as basic modules. The main structure, plumbing, bathroom waterproofing, bathroom fixtures, cabinets, wardrobes, etc., are installed in the factory, bringing the house-building process into the factory assembly line for standardized and large-scale production. For example, a modular intelligent factory in Guangdong can produce up to 50 modules per day.
  • On-site Assembly: The container modules produced in the factory are transported to the project site and assembled like building blocks to form a complete building. This construction method adopts a parallel operation mode, allowing multiple processes to proceed simultaneously, changing the traditional construction logic of brick by brick on-site, and significantly shortening the construction cycle.

Structure and Performance

  • Structural Stability: Containers are standardized steel units with sufficient structural strength to support multi-story stacking and horizontal splicing. Some brands of container mobile homes use a fully steel structural frame. Under the action of a 12-level strong wind, the maximum deformation of the frame is far below the limit specified by national standards, demonstrating good wind and earthquake resistance.
  • Thermal Performance: To improve residential comfort, thermal performance compensation is applied to containers. For example, a three-layer structure is adopted, with an outer layer of galvanized sheet to resist wind and sand erosion, a middle layer filled with rock wool as the main insulation layer, and an inner layer of PVC-coated steel plate to reduce thermal radiation; some companies also add an elevated layer at the bottom of the container to block ground cold bridge conduction, reducing indoor temperature fluctuations by about 40% compared to traditional color steel plate houses.

Application Scenarios

  • Temporary Residence: Suitable for temporary building scenarios such as construction site dormitories and emergency shelters. Its fast construction speed allows for quick deployment to meet temporary residential needs.
  • Commercial Use: Can be used for commercial pop-up stores, scenic area homestays, etc. The unique appearance and mobility of container houses can add character to commercial activities and can be flexibly adjusted according to needs.
  • Long-term Residence: Through reasonable design and renovation, container houses can also serve as long-term residential dwellings. For example, multiple container units can be staggered and spliced to form a community space with balconies or patios; photovoltaic panels can be installed on the roof of the containers to achieve partial energy self-sufficiency.
