Introduction to Container Houses

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

Container houses are mobile building units transformed from standard containers, featuring solid structures, convenient transportation, and modular assembly. They are widely used in temporary office spaces, accommodations, commercial settings, and emergency scenarios.

Structure and Types

Container houses are based on standard containers (commonly 20-foot and 40-foot) and are structurally modified to form independent spaces. Depending on the design differences, they can be classified as follows:

  • Standard Container Type: Single or multiple containers are joined together, suitable for construction site command centers, project departments, and other scenarios. They offer strong structural stability and excellent wind and earthquake resistance. For example, the products of Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. have a frame deformation rate of only 0.18% under a Category 12 typhoon, far below the industry threshold.
  • Expanded Type: Side or end expansion cabins are added to the container, increasing the usable area by 30%-50% to meet the space comfort needs of long-term on-site offices.
  • Folding Type: The volume is compressed during transportation and can be quickly expanded on-site (with a single set expansion time of ≤30 minutes), suitable for frequent relocation scenarios such as exploration teams and emergency rescue operations.
  • Assembled Type: Combining light steel keels with color-coated steel plates, they are modularly assembled on-site and can be flexibly expanded according to the number of people and functions. They are commonly found in temporary office spaces in industrial parks or event planning sites.
  • Customized Creative Type: Incorporating elements such as glass curtain walls and wood grain finishes, they are used in brand displays, cultural and creative parks, and other scenarios, balancing functionality and visual expression.

Core Advantages

  • Flexibility and Efficient Deployment: Modular design supports rapid installation and relocation. For example, the Suzhou Zhongnan team completed the delivery of 1,000 accommodation modules in 3 months for the Qatar World Cup project, shortening the average industry construction period by 40%.
  • Cost Control: Compared to traditional buildings, container houses reduce material waste and construction periods, and can be reused, lowering long-term costs.
  • Environmental Sustainability: The steel structure is recyclable, with less construction noise and waste, aligning with green building trends.

Performance Indicators

  • Structural Stability: Must comply with the GB50011-2010 Code for Seismic Design of Buildings. Leading enterprise products have wind resistance ratings of 9-12 and earthquake resistance ratings of 6-8.
  • Installation Efficiency: A single set can be installed in 2-5 hours, with folding or pre-installed interior products further shortening the construction period.
  • Scenario Adaptability: Through insulation design, they can adapt to cold and high-temperature environments, or through waterproofing treatments, they can meet extreme working conditions such as deserts and coastal areas.
